Default Injen CAI (SP2110) Installation - Chicago South Suburb

I know this might sound like a crazy request, but I would like someone to install help me install my CAI. I am low on cash and all I can offer you is to buy you breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on when the installation is completed.

I am not very automotively inclined but I'd like to learn to work on my own car, but I need to learn by example.

If you live in or around the Chicago Suburb of Orland Park or willing to travel a bit, and are automotively incline, which mean you've have done this before correctly. Please let me know if you would like to help me out with my install. I just ordered my intake today. Hopefully I'll get it by the middle of next week.

Just PM me, email me (bigbentely03@yahoo.com), or respond to this post with your contact information.

Thank You.

I know how it is. I am the same. I am not gifted in the respects of being able to work on cars. Lots of people help mod my TC.

Good Luck!

Default Best of Luck to You

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I picked up my tC on Tuesday, and all of my parts I ordered were delivered on Thursday (CF Lip Spoiler, TRD Springs, TRD Short Throw Shifter, INJEN Cold Air). The dealership will be installing all but the cold air, and after reading the installation instructions.......I'm not too sure I want my buddies helping me install it. When I realized that the front bumper has to be removed.......I think it might be best to let someone else (that can accept responsibility for errors) install it.

I really wish someone would put up a tech article for the CAI. There's one for a short ram, but that doesn't involve the whole fender aspect. It'll be one of my first mods when the time comes, and I want to have some visual help!

I guess if no one has written one by the time I install mine, I'll document it myself and submit an entry.

Does anyone know if you can install the Injen CAI without removing the bumper? Can you just remove the top cover under the wheel well like you can when installing the K&N CAI?

i did that the first time i installed it, but i went back and took the front bumper of (which by the way is really easy to do.) and it made it sooooo much easier. (taking the bumper off is just 5 clips up top, i think 5 screws on bottome and a couple near each wheel, i dont know exactly because im not near my car right now, but it was a peice of cake for me, the only payne is puttin the plastic things under the car back correctly i have to go fix mine sometie today because it got dark when i finished my bumper the other day, oh yea and it is time consuming so dont do it if your in a rush or it is the late afternooon, you would be better off doin it early in the morning before it gets too hot JMO) anyways good luck with your intake and have fun with it. i am.

I heard it comes with pretty detailed instructions. If you follow the instructions it shouldn't be to hard. I ordered mine earlier this week and I've been researching on the install. I'm a first timer at engine work too but I fell confident enough to install an intake. I'll post a tech if it comes in soon.

the instructions arent that great, but they help alot. it tells you to take the bumper and fender off for easier installation but it doesnt tell you how to take the bumper and fender off. but i came on here to find out how to take the bumper off but i couldnt find how to take the fender off. but you dont have to take the fender off. its easy enough when you just take the bumper off.

Default Took The Easy Way Out

Ok guys, I cheated........

After writing my post this morning I called one of the local tuner shops. I took my car in and they had the intake installed in about an hour. Granted, it cost me $70 to have it installed, but no hassle for me.

I must agree with an earlier post, it makes a big difference in the sound of the car. Under normal driving conditions, there is no difference......hit it hard, and it sounds like a completely different animal. I was really amazed at the difference in sound and performance the the suggested 12hp made.

i love mine, but im confused as to why my CEL is on. i have done everything that the instructions said to do but for the life of me i cant get it off. im honestly thinking of taking it off monday morning and paying the dealer ship to install it, or leave it on and just have them check the installation and have them shut the CEL off. any suggestions?

Thats actually the first time ive heard about the CEL appearing with a CAI install... I've heard it happening with performance headers.... You can try disconnecting your battery again, and reconnecting it after some time... it should reset the car's computer... It's worth a try!

maybe the sensor got durty, when I did mine I put it in a zip lock bag to make sure it wouldn't get durty. Are you disconnecting the negative or positive terminal? I would try both at the same time, maybe that'll help.
