I would post this in the off topic section, but it is not there. Anway, I have had my xb parked uder my carport for a while, and now I have ants all over it. There is no food, or garbage in the car. How do I get rid of these? I hate ants,they are just crawling all over the car!!

Anyways, I'm guessing regular ant spray should work.

With ants it's all about the nest. Figure out where that is. Most hardware stores will have the stuff with which to go nuclear. If you want to be less toxic (to everything except ants) then spead around a lot of borax. Years ago a friend had bought an old Plymouth from someone who had many dogs, and there were fleas everywhere. We draped a tarp over it an set off two bug fumigaton cannisters inside. Smelled a bit for a week but open windows and four "pine trees" took care of it.

Bug bomb the interior and spray the outside with raid...I had the same problem until I bug bombed it...I just used febreze after and my car smells fine now..

Just make a perimeter around the car with something like soap or raid, that will stop the buggers from coming in or out.. eventually they will leave or die

The fogger doesn't hurt the interior, you just need about a 5 hour period to fog/clear out and then it takes about a day or so to air out...but the same thing as if you were going to fog a room in your house...I've fogged every dorm room I've ever lived in, and I NEVER have problems with ants/spiders etc... :P

You COULD use a fogger - but in this humidity, the box's always gonna smell like insectacide. Not to mention foggers are highly toxic.... I would just sprinkly some Seven-Dust around and that'll fix the problem (and it's not toxic for mammals to inhale.). If you find a nest mound, it'll also kill everything in it dead in about 1 - 2 days. Works alot better than any of the ant-specific killers.

The -smoke generating- fogger is the only kind to use. The "true smoke" insecticide really penetrates a room (or a car intereior) and does not stain or leave any lasting stink.

I would not use the whole blast,,, just aim the smokin' bastid into an open door for a few seconds. Then remove. The unit gets HOT to the touch.

this is the kind that you place into the supplied cup along with a couple tsp. of water.. forget the name.. it may be Raid branded product.

Better for a dorm room than those wet spray "fogs". But mind you, it is -like a smoke- so be forwarned. Hours later the sealed room will appear "smoky" when reopened and ventilated. The residual odor will leave in a day or so at most. And what that "smoke" is, is -not- a combusition product. It's the insecticide misted so very fine that it does not precipitate out so much from the air. It does penetrate about as well as a true fumigating gas would. The wet sprays do this to some extent, but not nearly so -efficiently- or pentratingly.

That same thing happened to me in s. carolina..parking under a damn fruit tree!! Gr....I just vaccumed them out! and if worse come to worse...drown the bastards!!

Chalkboard Chalk Sticks

Yep, just lay the entire chalkboard chalk stick (you can buy it at any office supply, Target, CVS pharmacy, Eckerd Drug, or shool supply section ) . Lay it on the floor, seats or dash or whatever. It will not stain or hurt any part of the car or YOU (non-toxic and no fumes) and the nasty ol ants come up and usually take a bite or run like hell from it. It kills em quickly or makes em run for the hills. Just vacuum the next day and/or watch em' run. NO MORE ANTS within one day. :bow:

For real chalk. My son has some sticks laying around I gotta try it in the house by were they come in see if it works.
