Help! Can't get my stock exhaust off
So I just bought an HKS axle-back and today I decided to install it. The only rpoblem is, I can't get the damn stock exhaust off for anything. The problem is at the point where the tail section connects to the mid pipe, and theyre held together by two spring loaded blots. These bolts, although my car is less than a year old, are significantly rusted together. Even tho I've soaked them with WD40 I can't turn any of the bolts in any direction. I'm not even sure if Im doing it right, because I can't find a repair manual or instructions on how to remove the exhaust. It also doesnt help that I dont have any power tools to use. could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or do I just need to work out some more?
You need some PB Blaster. Soak it in that for a few mins and then tap on it with a hammer to break the rust up. It'll take some work, but you can get them off. You just want to be careful not to break the bolts or you'll have to get new ones from the dealer that work with the springs.
