Question about 18's
I am buying a tC and my parents seem to think that if i put 18's on it will mess up the odometer and speedometer.. does upgrading your rims affect performance in a negative way? i wouldn't think so...but i need somethin to tell them so they'll get off my @ss about the rims i bought.

FYI, it is possible to put 18" wheels and tires on your tC without causing any issues with your odometer and speedometer. All of the 18" fitments listed on our web site have been checked and verified as trouble free/rub free fitments.

I don't think you will have a problem putting 18's on your tC - after all, Toyota offers Enkei 18's as an option!
However, that being said, putting aftermarket wheels on your car CAN actually mess up your odometer/speedometer. This is because your car and its components are calibrated with the precise diameter of your wheel/tire combination. If you jump up from a 17" to an 18" rim, you get a thinner tire. If you go from a 17" to a 19", you get an even thinner tire - the idea is to maintain as close as possible, to the stock diameter. Usually rims that are specifically marketed towards your car will be fine in this regard, but if you go really large - like 4" or more above stock - you can run into problems (but I dont think anyone here is going to be rolling on 21's). It is also advisable to be careful if you start getting into prototype, one-offs, custom wheels, or anything like that.

you wont have any speedo issues if you use the right height tire with the swap and if it is off it would be only by a mile or 2 at the greatest providing the 18 rubber is close to the same height as the stock size rubber
