Default Who has Mudguards on their tC?

Hello,

I need assistance with the Mudguards, I hear two different stories. The 06 tC I'm getting from a trade has practically everything. I just want to know if I CAN GET MUDGUARDS on it even if I don't have the Ground Effects. Two different dealerships are saying two different things. One says I can't have Mudguards unless I have Ground-Effects and the other says the opposite. Please help me out.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

I have mudguards and I don't have the ground effects kit. I had the dealer install them a couple of weeks after purchase.

It doesn't look bad, take a look at this person's tC... It looks good, and it'll help prevent the car from having the UGLY splash marks.

What color should I paint it then? The tC I'm getting is Nautical Blue... have no idea what to paint it. What would you suggest painting it to?

Thanks

ive had them installed for a while now, and i dont regret it. they dont even stand out. but they are very practical. i used to clean my side panels quite a bit, and now not so much. its surprising how much it helps.

i also dont have the ground effects kit. i dont think it even fits the ground effects kit!

Actually, they look good on the dark colors like my FM tC. You don't even notice them because the black almost blends into the dark colored body paint. I'd rather have the mudgaurds on the car than the eventual road debris caused paint damage at the lower rocker panels and at the rear bumper lower corners. I noticed that Scion decided not to use the special chip resistant pain on the rocker panels and the rear bumper lowers. that made me decide that I need the mudguards on my car. With the now well known fact that the paint on our cars is fragile and easily chips, I'm sure it will help preserve the finish at those areas.

I have a Silver '05 tC and I got the mudguards paint matched at a local body shop. It looks pretty sweet having them the same color. I'll post a photo when I can get one.

Everyone seems to have their say 'bout the Mudguards. The people who do have them seem to be enjoying and find it very useful. It's not expensive and not noticiable in my opinion. It also fills in the empty gap between the wheels and the car for whoever has the appropriate wheel size for the tC. I'll probably get it, and most likely paint it if it really does help the appearance of the car.

As for factory mudguard...it will not work with OEM ground effects.

Here's mine..i 've had it for about one year now... it's worth the $35. I painted mine to match bodycolor. I had no choice but to buy it due to my wide rims..they were kicking up alot of road dirt and grim onto my doors and rear quarter panel..and these mud guards do more than adequate job of minimizing such effects now.

Mudguards are very useful, not that expensive and can look very clean. Check this ride out

I have them too. Bluebox inspired me. Mine are color matched since I have a light color. I think they look great, even better painted. The darker colors may not necessitate color matching but it will look better.

i have unpainted mudgaurds on my white tc. its hard to notice them since they blend in with the blackness of the tire and wheel gap.

It does look clean on all of those cars, painted or unpainted it improves the look of the cars. I'll definitely have mudguards on my tC now, I'll just see if the dealer is willing to paint the mudguards Nautical Blue to match my car. That'll look good, imagine Nautical tC with Chrome Standard Rims and Painted Mudguards. Good contrast and smooth huh?

I am probably going to put mudguards on my tC as well, anything that will help keep my doors and lower panels mud and scratch free sounds like a good deal to me. That, and I don't think they look bad at all.

I honestly think mudguards are ugly on a tC. But if you want mudguard then get it without the Ground Effects. Ground Effects lower the look of the cara bit and the mudguard will be in the way of your driving.

Just to clear it up for everyone::::::

IF you HAVE ground effects(OEM) --> You CAN'T have the mudguards.

If you DON'T HAVE ground effects(OEM) --> You CAN have the mud guards.

Hey BlueBox.
Is the trf spoiler for the tc out already?
Do you have to drill holes?
