Paint for engine cover...
i want to paint my engine cover...but i'm not sure what kind of paint to use...what type of paint will with stand the heat of the engine bay...and also not loss brightness...is there a speciall type of paint? and if soo...prices? and where can i get it? (i'm in the LA area)...thanks...

you dont have to use engine paint. the cover is plastic and doesnt get that hot. i've used the cameleon paint on one and it worked great, i used cast grey on mine and its fine, krylon has that new paint just for plastic, you might want to try that. whatever you use, clean and scuff it real good first. i used simple green and a red scotch-brite pad.
i just got really bored today and went out to buy some high temp engine enamel. no sanding. just clean the cover w/ a lil bit of degreaser, rinse, dry , paint and in an hour your set.

I used Duplicolor's Import Auto Paint... I use the Honda Milano Red color. Then I finished the logo and text with silver sharpie. One day I'm going to get bored and silver sharpie the 1NZ-FE on the intake manifold (is that what it's called?)
