Default Does the Cold Air Intake Wwork for the Auot XB

I was thinking about getting the cold air intake for my 2005 Aoto xb, can anyone suggest a specific brand and if it works well? Is it worth it?

thanks much!

i have the AEM CAI installed from the dealership. it works, but there are much better options out there for cheaper.
i got it to have it warrantied and included in the financing..

is K&N better?

If I buy it and install it myself does it void my 100,000 mile warranty?

Should I have the dealer put it on?

2005 Auto xB. Difference was big between the stock airbox and the AEM CAI. Quicker throttle response, maybe a litle power, throatier sound, plus dealer warranty.

ummmm....NO.....j/k. it will work definitely. there's a lot of CAI out there to choose from so it's just depends on the $$$ you might have. good luck.

I've got the Injen CAI and think it was worth the $$. I've also got an auto tranny.

One thing to think about is the show factor. Many people like the short rams, but they leave a gaping hole in your engine compartment where the airbox used to be. The CAIs fill in that space. The CAIs can also converted to a short ram type if you're in a wet area.

Thanks for the pic!

OK, few more questions.. Are you saying when it is wet outside you need the short ram? Im not sure why one is shorter than the other in the first place, we have wet seasons here and dry ones... any new suggestions?

You don't haven to worry about changing intakes when it rains. The AEM has a bypass valve to prevent sucking water in the engine. Even if it didn't you'd have to drive through about 10 inches of water to run the risk.

Corret you are. The AEM is the safest but if you're not planning on thaking your xB swimming you should be ok. Even if you go with the Injen you shouldn't have any problem. Personally I think it makes a difference especially on "the hole shot" off!

all intakes are the same, some put out more hp then the other, but its not like ur gonna notice the difference. jus go for the one that looks good. i recommend the injen 2 piece cai or the aem intake that u get from the dealer.
