i need help from all yu experts on this forum!

i want to make my A/C colder for the hot summer that's approaching. i heard that insulating the A/C piping under the hood can help acheive that. which piping and/or lines belong to the A/C unit??

That worked for me, but there is a service bulletin for that issue - take it in to the dealer to have it adjusted.

nnothing like the 3rd a/c post in like 2 days.

The A/C lines are the aluminum tubing on the left side of the engine compartment (looking in from the front). They run from the compressor to the condensor to the fire wall behind the enigne.

Apparently the TSB doesn't affect my car since my VIN# is after the "Production Change Effective VIN" which, for the xA, is 40057435. The xB VIN# is 40142587.

I guess we just need to put our windows down for a little when we turn on the AC so the hot air can be let out while the car is moving...

They fixed the problem in the cars with those VINs and higher...

i just had the TSB performed on my xb yesterday and MAN what a difference! its icy cold now! i definately recommend having it done! :wink:

off to the dealer I go with xA VIN# 045932, I'll report back how well it works...

I agree. I had them my A/C looked at last weekend when I got my 1st oil change.
Per my service report:

A/C is ok. 40° at the vents.

Well, the only thing that gets cold in my car is my hand if it's completely covering the vent and the A/C is on full blast. You can move your hand even 2 inches away and the temp of the air seems to goes down dramatically.
Even still, my old 1989 Honda CRX (R.I.P.) blew it away in terms of ice-cold. :evil:

remember how there are over 150 flaws in 100 scions.
well maybe a/c is one of them? hahaha

What the hell are they thinking, that we want to huddle around the 40° vents...while driving?!! Geez...an a/c should work for the car it is put into, no ifs ands or buts!

Try to have your car tinted.. it helps out a lot. 8)

BTW: I had the 2 front windows tinted as well even if they say its illegal.. I pulled up with a cop several times and they didn't give me a ticket.. hehehe... kewl eh? hehehe...
