ScottKelly911 08-12-2005, 04:43 AM Looks great!!! How much cutting did you have to do for the IS300 Fogs?
~Scott aka Mouse
ProjectD 08-12-2005, 04:56 AM a lot....
maximus96 08-12-2005, 05:48 AM f0cking awsome. i need to do that too. did you have to fabricate a housing to hold the fog lights inside the bumper?
ProjectD 08-12-2005, 06:19 AM nah, i just so happen to cut the bumper so that it fits flush and holds it in place. I also used some 3m tape to keep it from wiggling.
reagulator 08-12-2005, 07:05 AM obviously you know what you are doing
JaEohEN 08-12-2005, 08:26 AM obviously you know what you are doing
ill be quiet....
smash 08-12-2005, 11:43 AM holy crap that's hot as hell.. are those the DDE's that Creative Compacts will be selling? where did you get them? the foglights look awesome too i'd totally rock those if i knew how to custom fabricate anything.
DTRUONG_112 08-12-2005, 03:35 PM So nice. Where did you get the IS fogs from?
maximus96 08-12-2005, 03:54 PM how are the fogs aimed? are you able to aim them?
reagulator 08-12-2005, 06:10 PM i heard that the fogs are actually upside down. So aiming it would probably be difficult
ProjectD 08-12-2005, 06:24 PM the fog light housings are upside down, but the projectors are right side up. If I had them pointed upside down it would be like always driving with yellow high beams.
Maximus, if you want to be able to aim them, you should use the same method you used for your retrofit. Since the projector is flipped upside down, the mounting holes do not line up. A mounting plate would be the best solution here. I, on the other hand, just wanted them to point straight and both in the same direction. I didn't have any sheet metal on hand so I used some 2 Ton Epoxy (basically imitation JB weld) and attached the projector to the reflector. I can still take out the projector because the part where it is glued can be detached.
Oh yeah, check eBay for the fogs. I saw someone selling a pair in the classifieds section yesterday, I don't know if they are still for sale.
maximus96 08-12-2005, 07:02 PM i thought all you had to do was to flip the cutoff shield upside down? i didn't know you had to flip the entire projector inside. is it possible to get a picture of inside your bumper? i want to see how much you had to cut off. i know its a lot of trouble to climb under the car to take picture, maybe during your next oil change or something since i won't be doing that for a while at least.
ProjectD 08-12-2005, 07:46 PM the cutoff of shield and projector is all one piece, at least i think it is. I didn't see any way to separate the cutoff sheild.
Jimmy 08-12-2005, 11:00 PM where did you get the angel eyes. love the fogs

XD40tC 08-14-2005, 04:56 AM One question! Do the lights HAVE to be yellow or can you change it?
ProjectD 08-14-2005, 05:18 AM the lense is yellow. so if you want to change the color, you will need to get another lense.
maximus96 08-14-2005, 07:39 PM One question! Do the lights HAVE to be yellow or can you change it?

maximus96 08-18-2005, 12:58 AM ebay is your friend...or hidretro.com if you've got the $$
killer4605 08-18-2005, 04:34 AM ebay is your friend...or hidretro.com if you've got the $$
i don't know much about this field so i hope you forgive my ignorance, but i have a few questions.
do the projectors work with the halogen lights? like to buy projectors, install them, and buy an hid kit later or what?
how much do 3 series or 5 series projectors cost?
how much does an hid kit cost?
do i need an hid kit or what do you get with the projectors?
i've been looking on ebay but i'm not sure what fits in our TCs without modification so i dont know what i should consider
killer4605 08-18-2005, 04:45 AM ugh... i just looked at your thread. nevermind about the conversion. wayyyyy too complicated for me.
maximus96 08-18-2005, 04:55 AM its not for everybody as there's moderate cutting involved. but its something to think about in the future maybe. just don't do the cheap and lazy way of buying a HID kit because 1) they're illegal, 2) cost almost as much as parts for a OEM retrofit, 3) will blind other drivers and on-coming traffic.
