does anyone know if the stock interior speakers are pioneer or are they stock garbage. please let me know if the stock speakers can be amped or is aftermarket is the way to go.

 

If you plan on adding an aftermarket deck then you may want to replace them. They cant handle very much power.

 

After replacing my speakers, I can confirm they are garbage. Extremely cheap quality 1 way cone.

They don't sound terrible, but aftermarket speakers will sound much better.

 

yeah, i need to get some new speakers, they are good, but when your pumpin some bass, the mids and highs arnt loud enough, so you just get overwhelmed with bass. . but maybe thats me. Im runnin 2 JBL gt's in a bandpass box. 800w amp. hopefully upgrading to the Immortal or Ultra Excursion subs. or maybe all kenwood exelon. . ill decide once i have money

 

DEFINITELY GARBAGE. You know how Scion sent out the feedback survey and on the instructions to fill out the form, it said for example if your right front speaker blew out check this box and put said note in this field, well that's exactly what happened to mine after 1 month. I guess they knew how crappy it was. Ha.

 

AND, he did a great job, IMHO.

 

Honestly out of the new cars my friends have gotten I don't think the stock sound system is that bad at all. Yes aftermarket sounds better but for 15k the sound system is rather good.
