OK guys, let's see if the brass is really listening. If you guys think the Yahoo! Group Scion-World is pretty much useless then let the guys at Scion know. Vote on the poll at the top of this page and then send a message to the Scion people at this page:

the yahoo group used to be cool, but now it's just a bunch of dealers trying to use that as a way to sell cars.

this site is actually useable and more popular. i cancelled my membership to that group a long time ago. it's just useless for any real scion owner or prospective owner right now.

Scion world was just annoying. I got out of it awhile ago. Its nothing but dealers and repetitive topics all the time. Let those people stay there.

I wouldn't let this place become another Scion World! My dedicated moderators and myself would make sure of that.

The reason Scion World sucks is because the information is organized in such a way that you can't really find information from the past easily. That causes people to ask the same questions over and over. If Scion Life were linked I would make a new area called Scion Newbies that would be used just for that type of information. I don;t feel it necessary to do that right now because we don't get a lot of traffic from people that don't know about the Scion brand.

I did the same........this is the site for the true enthusiast. Eric is exactly correct, that has turned into a dealer feeding frenzy, as well as a Scion cheering squad. I like the freedom of this site to point out the flaws and get REAL feedback on a possible fix. Try that over there and you'll be flamed as a hater.

I'd really hate to see this site turn into Scion world. I still check the Yahoo group, but I have no idea why I waste my time, it's just crap The thought of the mind numbing topics that people post there coming into scionlife gives me the chills.

yeah leave scionworld the barely functional shark pit that it is. leave this wonderful place the spot of happy diverson(mostly) and inquiry that it is.

one sugestion. somewhere somehow make new members sign a e-document that says "under penalty of expulsion from scionlife i promise always use the search function before asking any question"

This is THE site for Scion lovers, owners or whatever for info, advice or whatever your need may be in the Scion world.....

and the people that frequent the boards here are really the best for good and thoughtful posts [ well, most of the time ] :)

this site should be listed. it is a great place for information.

a lot of the advertising that is on scion world would not be here because we do not allow that on this board. some people tried it in the past, and darren shut them down right away and now they're cool.

also, the format of yahoo groups is ok for small groups and making announcements, but once you get a lot of people talking about a lot of different things, it not only gets confusing, but repetitive, since the archiving system isn't as good as it is on a message board like this one. so you get the same questions over and over. and that's why darren made the FAQ pages. to answer common questions. then whenever people post asking what size wheels fit on an xB, we can just send them the link instead of getting into the whole discussion again, and again, and again.

I hate to say this but I would not do anything that will direct more traffic to this site unless we GET SOME MORE BANDWIDTH! I am falling asleep between clicks and I have a T1 connection. Maybe we need to have a bandwidth bakesale.

It isn't a bandwidth problem, it is a memory problem and I sent the upgrade request for the server earlier today. We are moving from a shared virtual server onto a dedicated private server with 1Gb of RAM and a lot more disk space.

I can't bring myself to vote. Does ScionLife deserve to be? Yes. Do I want it to be? I don't think so. I was a member of scion world for like 2 days and had to get out.

I personally would hate to see Scionlife turn into a Scionworld. But I think with the people already on this site and the moderators in place, we can keep the bad dealers and riff-raff to a minimum. All these dealers on here don't like the trying to sell attitude on here at all. This is a forum for info both for owners(soon to be owners) and dealers. Keep up the great work everyone!!!!

Scion Corp is very aware of this Forum... and they do read our threads and posts. I've spoken with few of the associates and even managers @ Scion..and they do admit that ScionLife is a very popular site and they do read our posts for reference and research purpose.

However, as mentioned, I would hate to see this site be filled with large commercial vendors ad. The ad banners is already starting to accumulate on this site...although most are small vendors...which i approve of. I know from a financial stance ... it'll be beneficial to ScionLife to get more exposure and more vendors to advertise. However, i think this is the only true owners site ...where everyone can inquire and post anything about Scion and beyond.

It's up to u...but from my experience... i think ScionLife should remain as is..cuz words get around faster than any ad. By putting a direct link to Scion.com ... it'll pull in more trouble than any thing else. that's my 2 cents.

but then again.. i don't know much about anything.

I have to concur Darren....Scion Corp is very aware of this site and they definately read it on a regular basis. I think my making this a corporate site you may lose the ability to run it the way you want it run. Keep your creative license and don't rock the boat.

This is THE ABSOLUTE 100% BEST Scion site on the web. You don't need an "official" stamp to make it better. It's the people who make this a great forum.

I still feel this way AND, because we like our cars for their novelty [sic], and since the people on this site went a long way in helping me decide to get my xB.. I have to say No, cause what's good for scion (selling cars) is bad for us (xB's become next civic).
