View Full Version : Help on Debaggin Scion emblem?

My car went into the shop about a week ago and i was goin to have him take the Scion emblem off and fill it in and paint over it. But he said since the piece is plastic the bondo wouldn't hold. I have seen a couple cars on here with it done how did yall do it???

:doh: bondo wouldn't hold on plastic???? umm go to another shop.

Ditto... whether it holds or not isn't the issue, really. It's that even if it didn't hold, you're paying them to do the job. If they don't know how - they figure it out or you go elsewhere.

Its actually very easy, u can do it yourself. Its not bolted on, just glued. U need, a hair/blowdryer, dental floss or fishing line, and 3M gum wax and adhesive remover(pep boys,etc).

1.Use a hairdryer to heat the emblem, evenly, for a few (5-10) minutes.
2. Either slowly pull the emblem off, or run the fishing line/floss under the emblem to cut the adhesive bond. You should now be able to pry off the emblem.
3. There will be some stick adhesive remaining, use the 3m stuff on a rag and wipe the adhesive glue right off. May take a few applications. This 3m stuff is great, better than goo-gone or goo-off, and safe for your paint.
4.And now your done.

Dont post if you dont know what we are talking about. On the tc you have to fill in the dent that the scion emblem is talking about. I was wondering how to do it.

mentioning the dent is a different part. it can be done, just find the right shop.
