I am probably going to order some goldlines and I was wondering what a fair rate would be to get them installed? I know my dealer wanted like $350 to install the TRDs if I got them and I would imagine it would not take too long as it should only take about 1/2 an hour right?

tpyical cost is about $70 at a shop and that is without a 4 wheel alignment which will be needed. an alignment will run between $50-$80.

if you do it at home, it will help if you have air tools. if you don't, then just have a shop do it.

Yeah I wish there was someone local to bring it to and the only place I can think of that would be familiar with this stuff is the local hydro shop but he is way too expensive so I am going to bring it to the guy down the street who just runs a small little junky garage and I can't see there being a way to really screw up the install so it should be fairly cheap also.

$80 tops and just go anywhere that sells rims. They usually do it.

rims, not tires. for some reason, shops that deal mainly in tires and maybe have 6 wheels in the window don't like to do spring installs.

Looks like you're in the same boat I am, OKI (I am in NH).
I should be getting my new wheels this week, and then I will be thinking about a 1.5" drop. The instructions here look reasonably easy. I may just try it myself. Did you end up going with town fair tire? They throw in a free alignment with wheel.tire combos, so maybe you could install the springs yourself and have them align it?
That may be what I am going to do...

I charge 50.00 to 60.00, Thay aren't available in my area , i hav e six installs under my belt. It doesn't take more than a hour, if you don't have to answer the phone or anything.

I paid $120 flat for the install. Is that too much? Did not include an alignment. I had to bring to the dealership for the alignment. They were cool about it since they haven't aligned a lowered xB. Mad props to the dealership for taking care of the alignment. I'm wondering will they do an install for me when I purchase Hotchkis sway bar. Does any Scion dealerships know if you do install of sway bars?

If u have a garage or a nice place to work on , I would gadly help you install the springs as I live near Boston, MA. I've done strut/spring on my rx-7 and it's not too hard as long as you have more then one person, correct tools and spring/strut compressor.
