I know this has been done in the past. I would just like to see if there are any of the newer members who are into anime? If so what series do you like to watch? Im currently a fan of Detective Conan, Initial D, Kidou Shinsengumi, Sailor Moon/Stars and Yami to Boushi. Im currently trying to find more places to download fan subs from. All the series I listed above are the japanese originals. I currently have 14GB worth of anime. Any series you would suggest I take a look at?

Thats cool that you will be coming to FL. It seems like a nice place from what I have seen (only been here a little over 1 month). What & where is this Anime Weekend? I watch the stuff, but dont go onto forums for it like I do scions. Yeah I use anime suki for my stuff. Just sucks that they dont have the licensed stuff there. I used to be real big on anime but not so much anymore. However I'm currently splooging on Naruto and Bleach. Although Naruto is on a slow decline, slowly heading towards DBZ territory. Bleach is great so far, even worse of a cliffhanger than Naruto was back in the earlier days.

They had an Anime thing at Jacksonville a couple weeks ago I think im not sure if its a once a year thing. Also there is a once a year Anime thing at FIU called Yasumi.

I dont watch the english dubs anymore I did for the first 2 years then realized that Japanies girls have much cuter voices(that and among many other reasons). And if I had the money I would go to Oktacon, But I was asked what AWA is well go to AWA-con.com thats our site. Aslo I lived in Fl for 10 years thats where I was raised got board and moved to Ga lots of fun there and you get a change in seasons. And of that list to keep me busy watching anime the only things on there I havent seen is GTO(although I watched the live action), Appleseed, city Hunter, One piece, Lain, Sakura Wars and Samuri Champloo only reason I havent seen them is Time and money They are all licensed. I have the entire series on an external hard drive. It's like 30 gigs! My cousin downloaded on a server at work, took him a whole month. :silly:

Ha! I'm an Old School Japanimation guy. Check out the original Macross: Do you remember love? Also, Macross Plus and Macross Zero. Black Magic M-66 is a classic. Ninja Scroll of course. One movie that sucked but has toys and models to die for is The Five Star Stories. The designs of the L.E.D Mirage are just sick. Vampire Hunter D, the newer Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, Akira, and one of my favorites is actually the Animatrix. As you can see, I like stuff from old and new.

Not really into the new stuff. I like Robotech, Voltron. The newer anime's are a little hard to comprehend so much flash and lighting that it is rather hard to understand what's the point of the anime episode. I like smart anime (Grave of the Fireflies, Castle in the Sky and non of that kiddie stuff :rofl: . I've moved from animated objects to actual people. Japanese drama's are hot as well as japanese non-animated movies and JPOP.

Yeah Im watching EP 01 of bleach right now. Seems pretty good. I also took a look at the first ep of Full Metal Panic & that did not seem to bad. Seems kind of like Gundam wing in a way though. Have not watched Tsubasa, that will be right after bleach.

ok the ninja nime thats Ninja Scroll if im not mistaken its been about 4 years the last time i saw it. As far as free anime ya its called the net and I quit watching english dubbed anime about 4 years ago I was watching Scryed when that was coming out of japan I loved it I heard the new english version of it and it made me hate the dubs even more I mean come on the guy who does Kazumas voice is the same guy that did Roger in Big O now he did great in Big O but he dosent have the voice of a 18 year old punk kid. The problem with the english dubs is that almost all the actors are in there 30-40s and they are doing voices for characters that are 14-21 im most cases. The Japanies have alot more voice actors to choose from so you dont hear the same voice in all your anime unlike the english versions, I know this cause Ive meet alot of them at my anime con.

Evangelion is my second Fav anime of all time(Full metal alchemist finally beat it) Elfin Lied has the greatest opening 5 min to a show ever. Oh and dont forget to get the OAV to Elfin Lied it shows more of Nuu's past.

Oh your complaining about waiting to see anime here is my pain I dl anime being subbed all the time as they are coming out of japan problem is the american companies are starting to licence them faster and faster every year, so say I dl about 8 ep.s of a show and im really likeing the show alot then it gets licenced and now I have to wait 2 years for someone to rip the DVD of it so I can watch the rest. OR if im lucky and it was very popular like Naruto is and there are groups out there that keep subbing even though its licenced. Rule of thumb is, if the title has Ninja in it or if the hole title is in english then it will be licenced very fast, although AIR is english and for some reason they havent got that one yet well it is the end of the con year and they stop grabing up anime tittles toward the end of the year.

If you really want to see a real otaku, watch that japanese drama/comedy Densha Otoko (The Train Man). It's pretty corny...but beware of the dreaded otaku in that series..

Currently 1-8 episodes out there... you should collect it, its a 11episode series.. a good watch.

www.anime-conan.net you can get all the stuff I have there. They just released 93 yesturday. It was a good ending to 92 as it was a 2 part ep. Also they have the movies there to. I dont have the movie 7 because that was just a promo until they get the whole thing done. Its hard to think the series is still on going in japan with over 300 eps! :bow:

If you look at DB/DBZ & DBGT as a whole, then yes it has it beat. If you dont look at them all together then nope. DBZ was the longest running with I think it was 292eps & I think it was 13 movies. Just recall though, the first Dragonball started in japan like 1988 or around there while Detective Conan started in 1995.

When I take one & then paste it into MSPAINT, I can watch the video playing in paint :shock:, then when i go to save it, its just a black screen :tap:

I have a few others I have yet to watch. Have not started Love Hina yet, trying to get Naruto out of the way, Im on ep 113 & started watching just 9 days ago. I watched the first 2 eps to Ah My Goddess & that seems like it will be good. I also have Peach Girl, Ai____eruze Baby, Mai Otome, Peach Girl, Tenshi na Konamaiki & Wind to watch still.. So I think I will be watching all my new anime up until christmas maybe even longer then that :doh:

Im have no clue. From my understanding, the new ep airs in Japan Monday nights. Then these guys get a hold of it, sub it up real fast & we get to see that same ep on wed. nights. :clap: So its not like a series that has already ended.. Also is that Yakitate Japan a live action? I tried that whole Sailor Moon live action & that was just garbage IMO.

A lot more talk then fighting going on :tap: Im almost done with Naruto, got 13 more eps to see until Im done with what they have came out with. The series seems very good & on how some of these eps are turning out, Im going to hate when I get to the last one I have. Then I will have to wait for new ones, & some of them seem to just be those keep you on your seat until the next one types :doh:

Not want I wanted to hear. Im up on Ep 154. I will finish up the series tonight or tomorrow. So I see its going to be mostly boring eps then.. :tap: The one thing about Naruto that really gets to me, is how stupid they make him seem. If I was his sensi, I would smack him over the head & tell him to stop using the shadow replecation so much (it fails about 85% of the time). He needs to learn more combat styled moves, instead of just simple punch, kick stuff.. :doh:

Good point & also the combo based attack using kage bunshin. He should be able to do rasengan with one hand, not the aid of kage bunshin. Im a little at aww that he has not done a multi rasengan. After all his chakira is split evenly into the clones, so I dont see why he does not have like 3 of them also do it & attack a enemy from 4 sides :bow:

Is shuffle any good? I have thought of downloading it, but not sure if its going to be any good. If you have a fast internet connection ie: At least DSL, I can give you the sites to where I get my stuff from. Bleach 58 = Not to bad. A little more action styled fighting then the last few, still alot of cut scens & boring talk. Cant wait to see 59!

naruto and bleach are starting to suck because of the filler episodes. the quality of animation is crap too. i cant wait till they start getting back on the story, but that wontbe until april of 06 or something.
if anyone is looking for a new anime that has a dose of everything, i suggust full metal panic. each episode is not rushed like the others, but it does take a while for a new season t be released. the first season and second season is already licensced by adv films so u could purchase it at ur local bestbuy. The third most recent series is still available for download at animesuki.com but since the series is complete i wouldnt be surprised if it gets licensed soon.

I find Suzuka to be very good. Its a high school romance styled anime. A little run down that wont go into great detail (so I dont give much away)

High school student Yamato moves in with his aunt. He works at her lodge I guess it would be, while not going to school. To make this real short, he meets Suzuka and starts to have a thing for her. The story goes on, he starts dating Honoka (a girl he met a long time ago when he visted his aunt when he was a child). Story goes on, & there really aint much I can say or I would be saying to much. Its taking on the role kind of like Ichigo 100%, just with out the same # of girls... Also there is a good story, animation is good, but this is mostly all romance... So no fist fighting going on, or stuff like that. Also there is this girl Hattori that always seems to bug Yamato at the wrong times & likes to get drunk in his room. She is just one of those odd ppl there to add some comedy to the show. If you like Ai____eru Ze Baby, you will probably like this.

Bleach 59 = One of the better ones. The great fight that has been going on, has come to an end. Leads a little into what the next ep will be about, with out giving away to much.

Naruto 161 = Not to bad, just another ep that tells you really how stupid naruto is.

Love Hina = Im up to ep 8, so far so good. Series seems pretty good, a little odd, but funny.

Love hina Im done with. Good series, but ends a little early.

Bleach 60 just came out, got it in 7 min! That was a fast download. Have not watched.

A few new Detective conans out, have not seen yet.

A new suzuka or two, have not watched.

Some other new ones of the series I watch have came out. Just been to busy to kick back & watch them. Waiting tell friday to do that. I will have my wisdom teeth pulled that day, so nothing better to do.

Mai Otome = Very good series. Has action, a little drama & hot girls :rofl: Its kind of like sailor moon, but only way better.

It also seems like Tsubasa Chronicles has been snaged up, as anime suki no longer supplies the torrents for the series.

Other then that, not much going on. Still have a crap load of anime to catch up on.. Must find the time to watch it all :tap:

Depending on what kind of shows you like I would say take a look at Mai Otome. Its pretty good. The story aint bad & its still in production. Came out early this year, so its very new. It was in my basement. Been in boxes from when I moved along time ago. Just now have made some space for them.

I worked at Suncoast videos a long time ago. It was easy to keep up with Anime back when it was coming over here one or two titles a month. I started falling behind when it was new stuff each week. Gave up buying everything when when I quit. So I have stuff that was never in print (as far as I know) on DVD.
Now I only buy stuff that looks cool on DVD.
I just gave away all my laser disc anime. And the LD player.

Bleach Vol. 10 comes out on DVD tomorrow. I know the US release is far behind, but hey it is still nice to own on DVD. I have to pick up my reserved copy from Movie Stop.

On a side note I am going to order Kakurenbo when I pick up Tuesday. I saw the movie once and thought is was a awesome piece of work.

Man i just finish watching all of blood+ lastnight...it was so sad man. For a guy I almost teared up. So so sad. Alot of people that were main characters got killed off quick. I recommend this to anyone.

well iono the 100 episodes of filler kind of ____ed me off. i was excited with shippuden finally came but the pacing is terrible and the fights are not as good as the first season. pretty lackluster so far.
