Wanted to get my TRD springs installed. Assuming that I provide the springs, does anyone have an idea as to what a shop would charge to install them?

View Full Version : How much would a shop charge to install springs? GuyBrawner 08-24-2005, 05:42 AM Wanted to get my TRD springs installed. Assuming that I provide the springs, does anyone have an idea as to what a shop would charge to install them? toastbox 08-24-2005, 08:06 PM It entirely depends on the shop, as every shop has different labor rates, and some shops charge by actual time, some shops charge by "book" time. $150 would be a middle of the road price, assuming $65/hour. stick_1NZ 08-24-2005, 08:13 PM If you have the basic tools to do it....you can install 'em yourself....takes about 45 mins. max for an amateur. Save the money and just use it for something else. Then thank me later. toastbox 08-24-2005, 08:16 PM If you have the basic tools to do it....you can install 'em yourself....takes about 45 mins. max for an amateur. Best i've seen is about 90 minutes, and that was at a shop that had presses, not spring compressors. Jimmy 08-25-2005, 12:49 AM in houston, the price to put on springs average about $80, shouldnt pay more than 100, or i'd do it myself Limey 08-25-2005, 12:54 AM My local dealer quote 3 hour back and 2.5 hours front, a grand total of just over $500 (ohh and add another $150ish for the required alignment). That's crazy talk. SupaWhite 08-25-2005, 06:48 AM I got a quote for $170 which includes alignment. ConjunctionJunction 08-26-2005, 05:27 PM 220 installed at autobacs considering street price for Tanabe DF is around 165, that means the install was only 55 bucks. Was waiting maybe 40 mins. bodjie 08-27-2005, 05:56 AM Got mine installed for $100. I was gonna do it myself but didn't have spring compressors. The clamp of the loaner spring compressor from autozone might be hard to insert between the coil gaps of the S-Techs. tclikewhaa 09-01-2005, 06:39 AM i paid 120 at a decent shop barefootbilly 09-02-2005, 11:06 PM I did mine for the first time ever, and I guess I'd charge $75, I can't see a reason for paying more than that. Yanki01 09-03-2005, 05:38 PM dealer quoted me $500 without allignment! LMAO  in their face! they thought i was really dumb! Called a local Autoshop quoted me $150 with allignment. Which sounded way better! Dont go to the dealership! Call around and get quotes! |
