Weird i have 4sp auto TC Injen Short ram and Alphawerk header ,Raced a stock auto TC 3 times all times i was ahead usually more than 2 car lengths. Even raced a 5sp was even and beat it once. Could be the K&N giving you a bit of a low end loss, or the fact that you had an additional 150 plus pounds on your car ..lol the weight negates the mods. Try racing a stock TC on a safe abandoned road please, with 1 driver and same amount of gas. Also at start make sure you step on the gas very quickly otherwise you will not be on the right gear with the auto.

What rims do you have? Some heavy 18" rims can weigh up to 20lbs more each than the stock wheels. I would bet that is your problem. The header and intake would probably about even you out.

not to jack your thread but this is how it comes down to drivers skill

this is my post from back wheni went to import wars im going to go again in october when its cooler so im sure the times will drop a decent amount

ok here is the info for the one video i have sent to chicago_guy so far i need to resize all the other ones so they are less then 10mb and i can email them to him but here is all the info off of the time slip keep in mind the track temp was 120

me
car# 327

r/t .503
60' 2.347
330 6.647
1/8 10.221
mph 69.35
1000 13.273
1/4 15.893
mph 85.29

other tc
car# 82

r/t .647
60' 2.502
330 7.084
1/8 10.802
mph 66.36
1000 13.991
1/4 16.715
mph 83.10

left first .9665

the other tc had a k&n intake a custom apexi header back exhaust and the full trd suspension other then that he didt say he had any thing else done and he was also driving a 5 speed manual like i was

and just to let you guys know im going back on the 30th of july they are doing a thing at night a car show and races if any one wants to meet up let me know its going to be alot of fun

http://www.pewclothing.com/DAN/car/MOV01299.MPG
to me it seems like we had the same stuff done but i probly had a little more weight becouse i had my sub and my amp but like i said driver skill is a large part not saying you suck at driving but there is always room for improvment im sure i can chop my times down a decent amount if i go back to the track on a day that it is below 100

18" rims eh? sounds heavier than stock. you can kill just as much wheel horsepower from those bolt-ons with rims, as you gained by adding them to the car. FYI....

my opinion from my last car is that bolt on's dont really do much for performance if anything. Sure they give you a few hp, but that amount is so insignificant you can do just as well improving your driving skills and better tires as you could with $1000 in bolt ons. So Forced induction, or headwork my friends. But that's just my opinion.

woah woah

tats not possible... tat only means you suck at driving...

no offense

but then again, you havea bunch of stuff in your car. weight makes a big difference.

my frend has full exhaust header intake blah blah 25hp 21tq or something over stock.

and i had nothing but CF hood and hatch. i still beat him.

i had no back seats nor spare whil he had full interior and 2 10's.

so tats jus an example of weight makes a difference. (and no my frend is not a bad driver)

Yesterday everybody was jumping on me for saying that small bolt-ons are not worth it, and today we have this. What a surprise ;)

The added subs, the heavier wheels, and the addition of your passenger may not have necessarily been that bad of a negative against you, but they definitely do not help you out either. Get rid of those variables and race him again.
The wheels and subs are probably hurting you more than you would think.

Stock 17s are about 42lbs with tires, OEM 18s are probably about 45lbs with tires, so it's not that bad. 2 12s are definitely not something you would usually find on a quick car ;)

Default what?

bolt ons do help with performance the added wait canbe reduced depending on the brand but saying bolt ons dont help thats like saying turbos make you car run slower..

Its said that 100 lbs = 10HP, so you can figure your 120lb passenger was sucking about 12HP from you..about the same as you gained form your bolt ons.

LOL very true, and that is assuming the other person weighs 120, might be more. The added weight negated your mods Andrew.

Also if you weigh more than the other driver, your own fat ___ is sucking power too!
