I have no idea....is 14 lbs. light? What is heavy? Stock steelies? How much do they weigh?

The stock xB wheel AND tire weighs 37 lbs. Depending on the diameter, 14 lbs is definitely on the lighter end of the scale. My 17 inch Maglites weigh 14 lbs. The 15's weigh 11 pounds. just for comparison. Unsprung weight, baby...

thanks for the info....just had no comparison really....lighter is better for ride and MPG, but not as strong generally as I understand it.....

Depends on how they are made. heavier doesn't always mean stronger. And remember you're only dealing with 2400 lbs of car...

My stock 14" steelies weigh 19 lbs. The ICW Tuner wheels are about 14 lbs that I run now. You can definately feel the difference.

Not sure about this ratio, but I heard or read somewhere that for every 1 pound saved in unsprung weight, it equates to 3 pounds in sprung weight, which is most noticeable once the vehicle is moving.

I had a Moto Guzzi sport bike, and replaced the stock aluminum wheels with magnesium ones, saving 17 lbs in unsprung weight in the process. So using the above ratio, that should equate to about 50 pounds in sprung weight. Once the bike was under power, the weight savings was very noticeable. The bike accelerated faster, turned quicker, and was much more responsive. So I would imagine one could get the same results on a car.

I was checking out eBay for wheels, and some of the sellers there list the weights of their wheels. Some of the 17" - 18" aftermarket wheels are HEAVY, weighing in at over 20 lbs each. I think the 15" Nippons I'm running are 14 lbs each. Not sure how much weight I saved over the stock steelies, but they sure look better...

I put some 15 X 7 Konig rewinds on mine. They weigh 14lb each. The stock wheels and hubcaps weigh 20lb each.

I like those Konigs. They remind me of the Empi-style wheels from back in the day...Nice choice! With that polished lip and silver spokes and center, I would imagine one could get those spokes and center in different colors, like black, gunmetal, etc?

You must be thinking of these Konigs in Graphite:
