Default Post your setup here...

Since there is mostly xB & xA info, people with tCs, please post your info. What I would like to have is a list of your drop, wheel size, width, offset, tire size, and if you have any rubbing issues. Thanks!

Anyone else???

I'm trying to figure out the biggest wheel size/tire profile, wheel width, lowering combo I can do without rubbing. It's a daily driver so I have to keep it reasonable.

5Zigen ProRacer GN+ 17 x 8.5 +48 offset with 245/40/17 Toyo Proxes T1S. Tein SS-Ps, dropped 2", full soft on damping. Hotchkis sways f&r set to soft. Daily driver. Let's me take on-ramps at 2.25x the posted limit without issues. Does NOT rub at all. I like it a lot, and I drive a lot of highway, some city.

Lo-bux-racer has it about as good as you can get, our car is very similar, the same really except:

Enkei RPF1 in 17x8 with +35mm offset, 235/70/17 Hankook RS-2s.

We run the mid setting on the rear bar, front bar is not on yet, mid on the shocks(a bit stiff but what I prefer.

The handling is just insane, I have to purposely make it break loose if I want it to and then very neutral and easy to control.

(Bigger wheels are only good for show cars, if you want optimal handling, 17's are the largest you need on this car, if you want them for show, then by all means go for it but at least get them as lite as you can afford;)

Thanks for the input everyone!

I want a deep dish wheel & was considering 19s, but I think I'm going to stick with a wider-than-stock 18". I had 215/35 series tires on my last car & my wheels were so bent they were almost square!

My setup....

05 SW tC

Suspension:
Tein SS-p Coilovers
Hotchkis Sway Bars

Wheels:
18x8.5 Axis Reverb
Nitto Neo Gen Tires 225/40/zr18

Currently the front coilovers are spun all the way down and the pillowball mounts are on 7 degrees of camber. When I did the 7degrees car dropped another 1/2 inch.

The pics shown were after I just worked on the car so not settled back all the way yet.

Just so you know, that is not really 7 degrees, more like 3 or 3.5, the marks on the camper plates are not in degrees;)

That is ok though, you would not want that much negative camber, your setting looks great for autocrossing

In fact your car looks dang nice!

I figured you did Just messing with you a little bit;)

I had very conservative numbers on my setup last weekend, fairly quick course, thought it was going to rain so only had 1.5 degrees up front and around .5 in the rear, slight toe in on front, zero out back, still need some tweaking for the rain setup once I run a few times in it will figure it out.
We had our rain/street tires on since have not recieved our second set of wheels and some slicks yet, suprisingly very little roll over, kept reducing the air pressure down to 36 psi which is fairly low, next time we run if on these tires will try 35 or even 33. I run the rears a bit higher to help the rear end rotate a bit, worked quite well but 6 runs back to back really heated the tires and they started to get greasy.

This was our first outing with the tC and only some of our parts are on the car yet, next time we will have the LSD, motor mounts, clutch, flywheel, FSB, better alignment, CF roof, etc, should be much beter, we were quite a bit off the pace of the STI's but they had race tires as well, not street/rain tires.
Once we get the rest of the mods done we will be getting alot closer to them, going to really suprise a few of the back markers;)

Definately not as impressive as some of you... But after our turbo kit we're rebuilding the car, re-enforcing it, new brakes front and rear with a full race suspension.

HP Evo 18x8, 38mm offset, Hankook Ventus 235/35/18.
H&R srpings
Hotchkis front upper...

Soon to be Custom built Progress race suspension (specifically for our test car). Progress rear sway. Possible prototype progress front sway (working on that with them). Not sure on what to do with the strut bar, we'll see how much of a difference it makes.

Other mods will be a full brake upgrade (front and rear big brake kit to accomodate higher speeds), wieght reduction and roll cage, possible audio removal (or heavy weight reduction), and of course the new wheel setup to go with it. Right now we race with BF goodrich tires on the stock scion wheels lol... Budget racer till the turbo's done.
