Default I now own a 2006 xA!! Wooohoo!

So, for those keeping up with the "trials and tribulations" of anothergirl, I went to the closer dealership today. As soon as I pulled up (and fought off the vultures some people like call car salesmen!) I saw the Salsa Red xA that "Bill" was telling me about. It was gorgeous. I believe the words I said at first site were "Awww ... its cute!" haha.

Bla bla bla. I ended up getting the car. I got worried when they called yesterday and said they were installing satellite radio, because I didnt want to pay for satellite radio. "Bill" explained to me that it was FREE!! The owner of the dealership made some kind of deal with the Sirius people, and all Scions are getting FREEEE satellite radio, and free service for 9 months. Hey, cant argue there!

Only thing I dont like, is the rear bumper protector that they put on without asking. It almost makes it look like the bumper is scratched along the edges, until you feel that it's a sticker. Is it s'posed to be that obvious?

Ironically, Im taking it for its first long ride into the city tonight. I'm a little nervous, being it's not even a day old - taking it to NYC ... but yea, knock on wood. It'll be fine.

I'll post some pix tomorrow!!

Default I just purchased a 06 xA too

I noticed that they added significant value to the 06 xA's over the 05's. Specifcally, the xA got the tC's mirrors with the turn signals in them (although they didn't delete the markers on the sides-my guess is this was a last minute decision and they had already contracted for the body panels with the hole in them and for the parts for the side lights), as well as steering wheel audio controls. The xB got neither of these enhancements (although they did get the new stereo and the Ipod-in jack as well as the xA). The xA is selling below expectations, especially compared to the xB, so maybe they decided to up market it a little, and not bother giving these goodies to the xB. Mine is Salsa Red as well, stock other than floor mats, arm rest, spoiler, and the uber-rare side and curtain air bags (which is why I picked this particular car-I wanted this safety feature-had to wait a little bit to get these).

So far I like the car. It's similiar but more upscale than my previous ride (a 97 Tercel). The salsa red really looks nice on it.

Thank you everyone for the congrats!

My car now has 145 miles on it, and its not even a day old. That's ok though, I dont drive all that much, I've had my Echo 5 years and only had 43,000 on it!!

Anyway, after about 40 miles, my bum started to feel a bit sore, and for the rest of the ride I was uncomfy. This happened on the way home as well. But - could just be Im not used to the seats yet .. I dont remember having that prob in my Echo though!

Besides that, I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE it!! I got so many compliments on it, from toll booth workers to my friends. We were trying to come up with a "spicy" name for it, you know .. considering it's Salsa Red and all. LOL. (Its still nameless as of now, I can see myself doing this once I have a real child too - not deciding on a name til its at least 10 days old!!) And the Sirius radio is amazing as well. Still figuring out how to use everything, but so far, I'm loving it. They have the E! channel - I mean, the E! Channel has its own radio station, where they play like true hollywood stories and crap. How weird/awesome is that? And Martha Stewart has her OWN channel? LOL.

It's stock, besides floor mats, and that rear bumper sticker .. but if you still want to see pix, I shall take some when I wake up. It's 5:36am, and I should get some sleep - if reading the manual doesnt keep me up.

Here's a quick photo I took while walking my dogs. I'll take more later on.

The neighbor's shed in the background makes the surroundings look all eerie and trashy.

How come they gave you 05 wheel covers and not 06 ones?

They're supposed to let you pick the ones you want, they used you to get rid of there old ones. If I were you I'd complain. Personally those are my least favorite wheel covers of the 05s... You should look at scion.com and see if you like any of the 06 ones more and if you do go complain and get the ones you want...if you dont and your fine with these, just keep em.

Its a wheel cover, no big deal. Just rock with out them on, less weight on the wheels & looks better IMO. If your going to upgrade to aftermarket wheels in the future, what would it really mater any ways? Nice Salsa Red you have though.
