What is your opinion on this Used XB Price !
Here are some details, it is a 2005 XB in Automatic, Silver Color and Stock with the only addition of the floor mats ..... Miles on it is 9100.
Asking price is 12,900.00 + tax ..
IS THIS A DEAL ???

Depends on the local supply. If it is one of many offered in your area with less than 10k miles you may be able to shave a few bucks off the price. But if demnad is enuogh to keep your local supply tight it's not bad. Same thing new is what, about $2500 more than that. For a vehicle that is supposed to last a long time w/warranty, etc. I'd figure the price is realisitic.
seems ok to me...
my friend had a BCP 5spd (floor mats and fog lights) for 10 months (paid 14,500),
put 13,000 miles on it. then sold it for 13,000+t
at one point they were worth more as used cars...(aug of 2004 you could have gotten 2-3k over your price)

KBB is the preferred price listing for dealers. However, be aware that it tends to state a higher price than what most vehicles are actually selling for. Dealers like to throw around the inflated KBB prices to give them some negotiating room with a car they are selling. On the flip side of the coin, it is difficult to get them to give you the KBB value for a car you are trading in. They are in the business to make money and if you feel that it is worth it, then everybody is happy.
Edmunds price listing is more in line with reality in my experience.

In the end, the bigger and more difficult question is what is it worth to you? Buying a car can be a very emotional experience. Every few years there is a big uproar about women paying more for a car then men. I don't know this is to be true in all cases, but it seems reasonable that women do react more on emotions then men. It sounds like you are doing the right thing and doing your research first before you part with your hard earned $. Good job! The xB is a great value. What ever you end up buying, good luck and have fun on the search!

So, sounds like the newer Silver auto with less miles is a good price.
Go in with the idea of getting it for 12,400 there abouts. But be comfortable with the 12900.
I've said this before, if I was shopping for a car today - I'd buy the xB all over again.
I already have an RS1 sitting in the garage, we use if for shows only. I called that dealer again and they will not budge of that price of 12,900.00 .....
I just need a decent used XB in Automatic to get back and forth to work which is about 150 miles a day .....
I was trying to stay under 10,000.00 if at all possible.

7yr/100k miles coverage.
As a dealer who has seen some used Scions move out thats a steal for our area. I have a used 05 xA in my showroom with a few more extras and more miles stickered at $15,999. I just sold a used tC today for $19,000 with almost no extras so same situation as your vehicle. I would take that. Dont lay down for them though. You can always get a few bucks shaved off if you play hardball...
I say grab the deal if you can. I tried to find a used Auto XB a few months ago and a local dealer here in Philly was asking $18,500 for 05 with no added equipment. It had 5000 miles and look like it was driven offroad! I held out and was able to find a new one that was coming in at a different dealer and got it for the pure price Toyota intended. What you are describing is a great deal for this area!

The used ones for sale are bringing back nightmares of what Harley dealers were doing awhile back. They'd let employees ride them around to put miles on them then sell em as used for way more.
If you want one try getting your own financing and walk in with a cashiers check and shoot them a lower price with cash in hand. You know what they say about money talking. Good luck! Either way it's still a good deal IMO.

There's a 2004 for sale across the street from the Scion dealer here for $16,900... reduced from $19,900!! I don't know what they're smoking because I drove home a brand new 2006 for less than what they're asking. Guess there's something for everyone... this one for $12 something seems like a fine deal to me so long as everything on it checks out OK.

I posted awhile back in another thread that the local Chevy dealer in town is selling a 2005 TCM manual xB with no options (bone stock) with 5398 miles on it for $17,172!!! Checking several internet auto search services, I could not locate a used xB within 300 miles of me selling for less than the cost of a NEW one. What gives?
Click here to see the complete ad with pics.
So, yeah, I'd go for it. From my experience, that's a GREAT price!

This is only going to be used as a travel back and forth vehicle ....
