So driving home from work a new driver (week and a half) didnt stop for the red light, and rear-ended the tC. Did thousands in damage. So the tC is gonna be out of action for awhile needless to say. I'm really disheartened to have my first new car, have less then 10k miles on it and have an accident on it.

Who thinks once its fixed to trade it in for a White tC if I can get the same payments?

Or, keep my BCP after its fixed and have the shop order me a carbon fiber hatch ?

Haha, Sorry Alexis...I know it sucks when your at a meet and another tC rolls up looking pretty simular (specially now that I got the exhaust done too).

Still...that billet grill really sets your BCP off.

I think you should trade it just for the fact that you know it has been wrecked plus the bonus is, is that you get a new car out of this!

Sorry to here about your car -- glad your ok tho -- ya I'm not real keen on keeping
a car after it's damaged -- trade it in

Yeah, but if you trade it in, won't you be upside down on the
financing?

If not, then I'd possibly consider trading it in.

I never feel the same about a car after it's been whacked.

Personally, I would consider it a blessing in disguise. It creates a perfect opportunity to "upgrade" and add some customization, on someone elses dime (insurance).

If it works financially why not trade it in and get a different color. If not, get some cool upgrades as stated above.

Jason, so sorry to hear about the car. Trade it in and get a new car, it just makes more sense.

Yeah the night I got my tC J.P. had a friend at Camelback that was swapping to a new one...I guess he wrecked it and they managed to get him out the door for the same payment per month just lost the 8mo of financing he had been paying. The re-sale value of the tC is pretty high. I guess I need to talk to Bryon...see what he can do. I dont have an official estimate yet, but my guess was 4-5k in damage. My friends dad owns the shop I took it to. He's initially thinking 8-9k. He's also cool with ordering me a carbon fiber hatch and using the left over money from the factory hatch cost to get a matching hood, and because the hatch wont need to be paint matched it might leave me with a few more bucks.

So I think the plan is get the upgrades then consider a trade in or private sale with the upgrades. I'm pretty sure if I trade I'll be upside down in financing. But in my head I'm thinking upside down isnt okay for repaired tC to new tC, but it is okay for new tC + supercharger =-P

I must tell you our Tc was side swiped pretty bad on the passenger side at just shy of 10,000 miles. Caved the door into the seat <-- with the door stuck shut you could see the interior carpet down by the side skirts, Blew the window out, buckled the top by the rear quarter window.

It was just an ugly sight, we thought the same thing well it won't be new now, it has been wrecked. The body shop said it was just too new & too beautiful of a car to total. After 3 weeks of body shop repairs the car came back flawless. Paint is perfectly matched, door lines meet, no creeks, rattles, or problems of any sort. It drives like a Tc with 9,600 miles on it. Nobody knows or can tell it was hit & we couldn't be happier.

I vote fix it, but we had a great bodyshop do our Tc, they even detailed the whole car. It really all depends on you & what the shop guy says & how good they are.

Either way good luck & we know what it is like to be in your shoes, it sucks but it will get better ! Hang in there

Trade it.....we need more white ones!

TheBlade

I originally didnt want white because I have a white Escort GT HB...but I miss white as a color... I must admit I cant say there is a Scion color that isnt beautiful. Even BSP comes off as more then just black (I'm just way too picky and a color that doesnt look flawless bothers me). The BCP Looks so pretty in direct like, but some of the pics I have where its a little dark makes it look purple...that bothers me.

Well here's the deal so far. I'm fixing it, easier to trade it or sell it fixed anyhow. I'm doing a carbon fiber hatch, and hopefully adding some cash to do the hood too. Stock tails (I like them on the BCP more then the TYC's) and possibly a stock rear bumper (not sure yet).

The shop is owned by my friends dad, they are the best place in prescott. They're work looks flawless and the body work is warrantied for life. Anyhow I figured if I decide to trade it in for a SW tC I'll just have to trade someone the carbon fiber hatch for a stock one plus like 200-300 bucks. (Alexis! :) )

Anyhow we'll wait for it to be fixed then next time I'm in the valley for a meet everyone can look at it and give me their opinions and impressions of the repair work :)

hmmm....IIP is so pretty, so is BSP and SW would look so clean with my 18's.
