Well we started playing around with some ideas and decided to go to the dyno with them. We have been making a alky kit for the tC for awhile now and went to the dyno to play with it.

We also took the factory exhaust manifold and made it a turbo manifold to see how it would do. We know this is not the best looking design but we really where just trying some new ideas.

All of these passes where made back to back with no more than 5 min or so in between to show the effectivness of the Methanol. We made some higher numbers when we allowed the car to cool but it stayed pretty consistent.

 

what turbo is that?...and how much psi was used on the dyno runs?

No intercooler - intake air goes straight from the turbo to the tb.

The cooling effect came from methanol.

Looks like the wastegate is recirculating the waste exhaust but no bov that I can see.

And plus the stock header makes a tubular turbo manifold.

That's a rough but pretty impressive kit!

numbers are very impressive. only thing that bothers me is the torque curve. what turbo is this?

It is a gt30 turbo the graph looks weird because it is of large scale the torque peaks and then falls off 25-30ft lbs.

This was on a very conservative tune. 10-2.1 the power drops when the methanol kicks in due to overly rich conditions. We know the kit is not the prettiest but we where not selling this kit, it actually does look really good when it is jet coated.

We are actually doing something very similair to this on retrodrive's car.

For the manifold we used the internal gate passage way to feed the external gate.

 

ahh ok yeah i have to open the image in photoshop and zoom in to see the labels on the left axis. i just remember the numbers from the e-mail. now that makes much more sense.

we went to the track we have a miss in the car at low RPMs that we have not 100% elminated the car fell on its face then picked up and went 12.5@117

We should have the bugs worked out and be back within the next week or so.

All stock internals. Same car we made 350 with on the other setup, same car we sprayed 125 shot on, same car that needed e-brake adjustment three days after it rolled off the lot.

 

Glad to see you are focused on this instead of getting those turbos out to all those who expected them a month ago.

I'm sure not everyone working for ZPI is in the production aspect. As far as I know, they're polishing their pipes right now and perhaps building some stuff for the turbos or whatnot - you can't expect everyone to pick up some polishing equipment or welding equipment or else you're gonna get some really bad quality stuff and some pretty good stuff.

I don't want to defend the lack of orders going out but since I don't preorder car parts I can afford a little more subjectivity :D

If you ordered a kit and are tired of waiting, you are more then free to call and get a refund. If you didn't order a kit, then thanks for the concern. Breathe easy knowing that we would like to be the first one's to blow one of these engines up, so that YOU dont have to find out what a bill like that looks like. Without R&D, there would not be.
