Default Need help to conveice my parents.

I need help against this arguement for my parents to get me a tc or any car by that chance. I have my full licensce been driving for two years. My parents don't allow me to drive alone or with them anytime cause they said they don't want me to drive. Well my mother lets me drive my father just doesn't want me to drive. Well evrytime I talk about cars they yell at me about gas price and I see everyone in my school with ____ing dodge chargers, escalades, h3's bmws, benz and I want a damn Tc or if I did go the used car route a used corrolla or passat (my father likes them). I don't understand why I can get a car. I have a job to pay for my own gas. I could help a little bit on insurance they complain about picking me up and yelling at me to take the bus or ask one of my friends for rides. What should I say to them to get me a damn car.

You should say "I'll pay for the car."

They'll agree then. Honestly though... read what you're writing... you're tying to find a way to practically beg your parents to buy you a brand new car... Now I know a lot of parents will do this... but damn, my kid is going to earn and pay for at least half of anything I ever consider buying (if I ever have any kids).

800 a month
sounds like you'd be pretty damn fine to me considering I pay 400 a month for the car, 100 for insurance, the rest can be used on gas!

If you want it bad enough then you can get it.

i say, mope around the house. . . and when the rents are sittin around and its quiet, make a random *sigh*. . . then if all else fails. . . CRY! heh. i dunno what to tell ya, some rents are just like that though, and theres nothin you can do about it. they think one way and keep it that way. (and im not talkin smack about your rents, cuz i dont know them, but from my experience, thats how it usually is) My rents are stubborn, and thats all i have to say.

okay, my last thing was a joke (obviously) but what i think works, is have them sit down with you, both of them works best. but, have them sit down, no radio, no tv, no paper, nothin. Just them and you, and have a mature intelligent conversation. dont beg, but lay out the facts. be like, "Im willing to pay for "state what you will pay" and everything about the car will be my responsibility. If i do anything irresponsible because of the car, im willing to give it up" its what i did, but then i couldnt pay for anythin cuz i was playin football at the time. but when i got ajob the next summer, i paid the stuff off and took care of the car. (it was an 88 200sx, and i took care of it like it was brand new) wont say it will work, but its better than nothing. but when they see your professionalism and matureness, then maybe they will reconsider. not to pry, but if you are an only child, maybe they are sorta scared your growin up. sounds sappy, but my mom was like that when i moved to college this august.

Yeah I'm playing football now and they _____ bout picking me up from school everyday. I'm have a sister and brother both younger. Ihate being the oldest cause I have to fight for everything while my bro and sister get everything easy. Like when I was 10-11 I couldn't go to my friend's house but my brother does now. I gurantee they get him a car when's he my age. Cause my parents make me the test dummy for their parenting and they now how to handle and prepare for the situation

Stick and follow your parents orders. Your parents are probably more concerned with your safety and would like to see you home in one piece. Every loving parent would do the same. [i'm starting to sound like my folks] To convince them, you may have to go with a used vehicle and get a job that requires you to work 5-7 days a week part time and full time on the weekends. The tC will hurt your parents insurance. If you get your own, it's even worse. Maybe a used Echo or Corolla.

First car i brought when I was 17 was a 1981 Mini, it cost me 500 English Pounds (that's about $800).

My parents freaked.

But it was my car, that I brought with my money, that I paid the insurance, gas and maintenance on, it lasted a good 3 years.

You are 17, and you expect your parents to drop 17 G's on a BRAND NEW CAR?

Yeah, alot of parents would do that, but I think that teaches the kids pretty much nothing as far as the value of things.

My tC is my 11th car....start with a beater and earn your way up.

You also might want to focus on school a bit more before you can 'conviece' your parents...

If they complain about money what makes you think they're gonna get you a brand new car? I'm not sure about your family's financial situation but if they're anything like most families in this country they can't afford nor are willing to pay for a brand new car for their child. I had to save for 2 years and have a clean driving record before my parents would help me get a loan for my car.

just get a job and pay for it. once they see how responsible you are and or if you struggle to make payments, i'm sure they'll help too. get one asap =)
