View Full Version : What ONE Mod Boost HP The Most? CitizenSanexB 09-01-2005, 02:57 AM i'm just curious... kinda trying to make a decision on what to do first to up the power on my soon arriving box. i have intake and exhaust all ready, so what will it be? bubblemyster 09-01-2005, 03:06 AM turbo or supercharger CitizenSanexB 09-01-2005, 03:10 AM ha ha... i'm talking a cheaper mod. i don't know if i can afford the turbo or supercharger right now. maybe in a month or two, but not now! OrAnGeBoX 09-01-2005, 03:17 AM headers, pulley thats it CitizenSanexB 09-01-2005, 03:20 AM headers, pulley thats it what kinda increases are we talking with that on? Stealth97 09-01-2005, 03:24 AM Youre not going to get much gains with N/A mods like you may have on that pickup your getting rid of. On these little 4cyl motors, boost is the only economical way. V8, i mean, i'm still keeping it, but i'm not going to be driving it much at all. not until gas reduces in price. good ol' nitrous huh. muhahahaha, yessss. matchbox 09-01-2005, 04:42 AM Well a header exhaust and a CAI is enough to make you add a new clutch down the road. I know of a xB that needed a new clutch just from an intake and an exhaust. The stock clutch can't take very much. Sciond 09-02-2005, 01:56 AM uh oh...just did a short ram and exhaust is going in next........ grnxb 09-02-2005, 02:36 AM the "tornado"? If you need any, contact us for a great price! Daewootech 09-03-2005, 12:40 AM yeah why short and not cold air? possibly because longer cold air should bring torque up due to longer tubing, and since he wants HP the shorter ram air should bring the power curve closer towards the top end, i dunno?? personaly, torque is the only measurement i would care about, its what moves the car. but thats just me firesquare 09-05-2005, 08:24 PM a faster car is always a easy faster mod :-p jct 09-05-2005, 11:15 PM i did the muffler then header then injen sri i really felt the free'ed up power on the muffler and header when i did the sri imho that was really for the sounds i didn't feel any increase in free'ed up power (with my butt dyno that is) FrankenScion 09-05-2005, 11:19 PM K&N cai, most bang for the buck. :D Prototype_xB 09-06-2005, 04:01 AM Custom test pipe and a MIL emliminator........... Wraith 09-07-2005, 10:03 AM try a lighten flywheel Wraith 09-07-2005, 10:08 AM yeah why short and not cold air? possibly because longer cold air should bring torque up due to longer tubing, and since he wants HP the shorter ram air should bring the power curve closer towards the top end, i dunno?? personaly, torque is the only measurement i would care about, its what moves the car. but thats just me you very correct... the longer the intake pipe = less velocity = more torque, little less horsepower ... the shorter the intake pipe = more velocity = more horsepower, possibly a lost of torque Fujiz_xb 09-07-2005, 01:30 PM iridium spark plugs. i have exhaust intake and grounding kit. there was like a 2 second lag on it on take off. now with the iridium sparks there that lag is no longer there and so far it has increased my mileage.
