Hey guys... I am leaving on vacation for a couple of days... hadn't planned the next contest yet. I will think of something over the weekend.... but why don't you guys suggest some ideas for me! If I go with your idea I will send you some free stickers!

There is a good deal of ideas I could come up with, but to be honest they are all biased towards things that I would have a chance of wining. So I cant really give any good ideas. Maybe something along the lines of who has the most custom hand done work ie: build most of the parts on there car instead of using aftermarket parts.

Since it is September, how about another scavenger hunt, only with the owner's Scion in the picture. This will force us to get off our lazy butts and go enjoy the nice weather.

my ideas for the contest:

1. Best club picture (scions only).... i got a really good idea for my clubs picture if you go with this... i think you will like it alot

2. Best concept part for one of the scion models

3. Best dear scion feature (something that would seem like scion would actually make it a factory option, or change in future models)

4. Best photoshop (photochop) of a scion

5. Best video of a scion(s)

I personally would like to see my first one, cuase i have an awesome idea for it, and it could help out scionlife as well.

Yes who has the best track times :P All the tC's would be winning that. A friend of mine has 1 with just intake & exhaust. She runs a 10.3 in the 1/8. Thats running on a set of stock 16" steelies from her husbands Matrix. Now if you did it by class, then that would be good. Only tC vs tC, xB vs xB & xA vs xA. Then all the Turbo xBs would be winning in the xB class, but it would be a good show for the xA group :lalala:

I'd like to ask that the contest be region inspecific, which I think most have been thusfar. Some of the requests, though, aren't. For me, getting a group photo would be much, much tougher than, say, someone in Southern California to do.

Also, getting a good nature picture may be tough, as we have lots of corn here, but not good looking vistas.

I like the idea of another scavenger hunt with our scions in the back ground, it would be a nice reason to enjoy the last days of summer/ begining of fall (allways summer like in fresno)

Heres some more ideas:

1. Have a design contest to create flyers to hand out at shows or to post on cars to advertise scionlife, kind of like the scion night flyer that scion sent out.

2. you could have some sort of invention contest, soo who can fabricate the cleanest custom part for a car using thier tools at home.

3. a coolest photo with a scion contest, see who can come with the coolest photo at which people can vote whos picture they like the most. the picture must be a unedited 35mm photo with a second picture showing you holding the unedited photo.

4. Model scions!! see who can build the best scion out of scrap materials all by hand, no pre fabricated parts, everything must be 100% custom made.

5. build one of those photos that are made up of hundreds of smaller photos, essentially a scion photo made with smaller scion photos.

6. Best ASCII scion design, see who could come up with the best scionlife or scion design using ASCII characters only

why food? the red cross only takes financial donations, not food

yea break away is right, currently theyre only taking monetary donations. and i totally agree we should be helping the Katrina relief fund, set up Paypal donations or something through the site, but i dont think its right for a contest. that may sound cold hearted, but i just dont think its the right thing to do. set up a donation would be better IMO. for a contest i hope we should stick to SOMETHING scion related.

And just cause the Red Cross only wants money doesn't mean you can't donate the food to food banks that are contributing to disaster relief.

See who can cram the most people into a xA, xB or Tc and take a pic. I think it would be fun....and a little painful.

Koaster, that's only good for the photographer who submits the photo. Not fair for the crammed folk in the scion.

There are more organizations doing better than the Red Cross... Why did it take the RED FREAKING CROSS so long to respond?

I would rather donate to other organizations that are there, got there earlier than the RED CROSS!

But as some say, using a tragedy for gain helps no one.

If someone won the contest here, if it were Katrina Related, wouldn't it feel dirty to accept a PRIZE? Maybe if the tragedy is used, the prize can be a cash donation to the charity of choice in the winner's name.

I like this one. Mostly because I wanted to do the last hunt but that was ending as I signed up and I was unable to participate in that one, plus I like the idea of our scion being in the pic. That is something everyone here should have available to them.

I don't like the club ideas. Mostly because I know many of us on here are not members of a scion club or even close to one for that matter. Many places may have a large number of scions (S. Cali) but there are not so many of them from like West Virginia and Iowa.

Just my $0.02

theres LOTS in IA. they have an awesome following. come to Nebraska... different story totally. this is why i dont like a lot that require large amount of people or scions for, since NE's scion owners are lacking. photography/scavenger hunts arent bad. this will all depend on how each idea strikes Darrens fancy

Scavenger hunt has been done. No more of those for awhile. A jingle might be cool, but not all can do that.

Heres the thing: Not EVERYONE will be able to do every contest possible. Thats just life i think . The jingle will be really limited I think. Making stuff and pictures is stuff everyone can do though. I dont know.

The pumpking carving thing is a good idea. Cut out images of scionlife logo or a scion into a pumpkin then take a pic.

How about taking a break from the Scion theme (as we've seen done before) and do something like a portrait contest, any medium, just post up portraits of people.

Would provide some cool outlets for our more artistic folks and be pretty simple to do

I really like the model building contest. i thought it would be original, but someone beat me to it. it would be judged on originality, paint scheme and detail. that would be really fun, i think.

the jingle one sounds neat, but i would want it turned into a phone ring if it was cool enough.we have to have some really talented musicians out there. and as far as limiting who can enter, not everyone is great at everything. that's probably why the contest changes every month.

September is considered Literacy month, how about pictures promoting "Scion" Literacy month?

scavenger hunt has been suggested and my outlook on it, is its already been done. lets do something new.

and no it should be a solo thing, no clubs involved since not everyone is in a club or wants to be in one.

im sure you mean it as just something where a club can help you out, but thats not fair to all since a lot of locations dont have clubs at all.
