Default Opinions Please

I have installed a Borla / Axle Back Exhaust system in my 05 XB.
It is a really nice sound, but I would like to get more depth out of its tone.
If I remove the stock resonator, and add a stainless pipe from the borla back to the cat and install a high flow cat will this help? Borla does not make a single catback system only a dual, this is why I went with the axle back, plus I was confident that I could build on the system to make it catback. Any opinions, ideas are greatly appreciated.

I really can't say if your idea will work. I have the Boral axleback on my car and noticed a deeper tone when I put on my Strup header.

Yes, buy a Strup header. Also a cai will change the sound somewhat.

Or you could always just sell the Borla and get a Strup exhaust, it's alread low. The best sounding exhaust on the market hands down.

I will sell you a high flow cat and a high flow resinator if you want...either that or just cut out the stock ones and run custom piping from the cat back

Don't listen to these guys, you can take your car to any muffler shop and have them match the diameter of your axleback. But If I were you I would buy myself a megan header and have a custom header back setup installed, and if you don't already have an intake i would suggest buying the injen short ram, best intake on the market as well as one of the cheapest. You can get the megan header for 100-130 off ebay, great quality and performace. And any mufflershop should be able to do a custom setup for under 200 so id guess 300 or so, depending on where you live, for a full setup including the header. Good luck!

He can listen to whoever he wants. I don't make any money off the advice I give. I just support the stuff I like.

well just dont tell him to go buy the most expensive header out there when the megan header produces the same hp on the dyno and cost 1/3 the price, and why tell him to get a cai when the injen short ram produces more hp?

We are sponsored by Strup and are therefore obligated to promote Strup since Strup gave us free and/or discounted Strup stuff. If the brand other than Strup had given us parts, we may have mentioned the brand other than Strup. Since they haven't we will mention Strup as much as possible when applicable.

As for the CAI, I think it's just a technicality but the Injen Short Ram is a CAI in my opinion. I don't think he was inferring that the most expensive intake is needed.

Im not sponsored by Strup but I will say their product seems pretty good...as far as header goes, I could care less what anyone uses...to each is own...but in my initial response, I didnt mention brands, I mentioned what he should do to help him achieve his initial goal to "Get more depth out of its tone"

I said cai because I noticed when I put my K&N on it made a difference in the sound.

ya id also love to buy a strup header for 300, and then spend another 100-200 at a mufflershop for a catback or header back and then 240 for an intake. smart thinkin!

1) Have never had a strup product on my car EVER
2) Have never had a $240 CAI, only an Injen SRI which I dont have on my car anymore due to the turbo that is on the box
3) Again, my initial response had nothing to do w/ any specific brand..here you go:

The way I look at it is scioneezDream asked for opinions. We gave ours. We didn't ask for your opinion on our opinions. Why don't you keep your posts relevant to the topic at hand and spend less time worrying about other people's response's unless they are wrong.
