The Optima is smaller than the OEM battery, so yes, the AEM tiedown will fit. The Yellow will be the same size as my 75/35 Red, and my strap's holes are in the exact same locations as the OEM tiedown:

Your only issue may be that the J-bolts are too long. I removed the bottom spacer from the Optima, as it made the battery sit unusually high.

yeah that was the issue with the stco tie down, is that the battery j hooks where to tall at that point for the factory tiedown. The AEM comes with new J hooks though, Not sure if that will help or hinder it. That is why I was asking if it fit, the guy there said they would'nt take it back if I open it. Now how in the heck am I supposed to know if ti fits without opening it? LOL

You can always pick up a replacement set of J-hooks at any autoparts store for about $3.

I had the AEM tie and just got an optima last week. I spent like an hour shortening the AEM j-hooks and then made em too short. Luckily I had the OEM ones. Come to find out the OEM j-hooks worked perfect for the AEM - Optima combo. Didn't need to shorten them.

Are optima batteries really that good? Are the people getting them just really into car audio stuff or are there any other upsides?

Longevity. They can handle many time more charge/discharge cycles than an ordinary battery. My RedTop wasn't bought for the tC-- I took it out of my last car, where it powered a 1400w stereo system for over 3 years. Gel cell is the only way to go.

whats the difference between the optima batteries? Like red top, yellow top. <--excluding the obvious colors. Like performance wise what does it do?
