Default Painting the stock black wheels on a RS 1.0

Until I decide what kind of wheels to put on my Hot Lava, i have the 7 round spoke wheel covers and standard black wheel, i thought of having the black wheel painted the hot lava color with the wheel covers showing the orange thru. Can one paint the black rims? or do they need something first like a clear coat or whatever?
Question 2, which size 17" wheel should one use, 17 x7 or 17 x 7.5? Thanks
dr dan

you will most likely want to look into powdercoating them, but i personally don't think it would look good. if you paint it then it will need to be sanded down, primered and then painted.
