Default racing chip company??

I purchased my tc with trd exaust. I just got my Injen CAI and my Alphawerks header on . I heard that to get maximum HP gains from all those bolt on's is a racing chip is this true? If so does anyone have a chip on their tc yet or can you recommend any good companys? Any feed back would be cool thanks.

Why would you want to chip an ECM with Flash memory? Why not just reprogram it?

yeah i was wondering the same, my guess?..when the engine has a drastic increase in air and fuel flow it then will need to be managed by a ecm that has wider parameters, since the stock ecm can only adjust so much to compensate, and what mods will increase air and fuel flow? port and polish head, and or forced induction, bigger cams, or engine bored out to higher displacment , just to name a few, of course this is my guess since i do not know how much the stock ecm can handle before a reflash, i am sure more experienced minds than mine can hopefully answer this.

If you're looking for a simple plug-in chip (i.e., hondata, APR) for our cars, you're out of luck.

No one has designed a simple replacement/plug-in ECU yet. However, with the popularity of the car and its reputation as a tuner vehicle, i'm sure its just a matter of time. I don't think VVT-i is too different from the VTC system on the k20a3, so essentially its "been done," just not in our toyotas yet.

If you want something NOW.. by a SAFC-II or e-manage... "universal piggyback" systems, and find a dyno in your area.

Edit... there's this unichip thing, apparently.. but its $700. Better to wait.

(And for you perpetual complainers, I said VTC, not VTEC. There is a big difference.)

vtc is a little diffrent i think its the only type of valve timing that does both cams at diffrent degrees but other then that from what i have been able to find is bwm toyota use basicly the same system the honda version just has one extra gear in between the cam sproket and the cam gear
more info can be found here if any one wants to find some basic info on this http://asia.vtec.net/article/ivtec/

but like you said most of that should be able to transfer over to our cars maybe we can bet the hondata ppl to help us out hmmmmm

and also my rsm will void my warrenty if my dealer sees it and i cant even tune with it lol so you better watch out if your going piggy back if and when a reflash is availible that might be the best option as long as we can flash back to stock

The problem we have is that Toyota guards its ECU programs like gold. I don't think there ever was a PnP ECU for any Toyota. If there were, they're on old cars.
