Ok, so I've decided to get coilivers over springs, but because the price difference, I've decided to attempt this install myself.

I checked out the coiliover install faq and it seems simple enough really, but the faq here on ScionLife is really for an xB...so...

1. How different is the tc rear suspension? I would assume the front are nearly identical to do as the xB.

2. As stated above, I'm a newbie, so feel free to flame me if this is a stupid question...how do adjust the coilovers? How do you know how far you're dropping the car; how do you ensure you have the exact drop on both sides, etc. etc? I'm sure I'm being pre-mature with this question, but curiosity kills.

3. More of a comment than a question...but it seems like coilovers are easier to install than springs since there is no need to disassemble the shock/struts, and no need for a spring compressor...no?

which coilovers are you getting?

if youre getting teins, the basics and super streets are just like installing separate springs and shocks (you'll need a compressor, but you can get away without one if youre handy-dandy). if you get SSP's, you swap out the stock unit for the fully pre-assembled tein unit.

getting the height is tricky. on teins, the very top of the perch is a 1.4" drop and the very bottom is 2.7" drop. so the middle would be a 2.05" drop. use you algebra skills and figure out what a 1/4 and 3/4 drop would be.

Also...anyone know the answer about the rear struts? Same process to install as the xB or is there a difference?

Again, sorry for the extremely noob questions...I'm pretty confident I can do this install myself, but just want to make sure I know all there is to know.

You will be happy with the besics. The price for the ss-p's is way to much IMO. If you have never done this before you should give yourself an entire weekend to get it done. You deff. need a friend, spring compressors, torque wrench, jack, and breaker bar is very important.

I did the rears first so they took longer. You have to rip most of the rear out to access all 4 strut mount bolts.

Only problem I ran into was tein didnt drill any sort of allen hole on the top to keep the rod from turning inside the shaft when mounting....wtf.
