View Full Version : camber kit required on H&R springs?? xtcx86 09-14-2005, 02:25 AM just wanted to know if any one on here has H&R springs for the tC and if they need a camber kit?? feedback would be appreciated. slammed 09-14-2005, 04:56 AM i have tein coilovers which go far lower than the H&r springs and I dont need one. The tc's camber doesnt change to much. It would be benificial if your tracking your car. You deff. want an alignment though. reagulator 09-14-2005, 07:07 AM i have H&R no camber kit needed echelonphoto 09-14-2005, 01:19 PM Hi, Where did you get the H&R springs? They don';t even list them for this car reagulator 09-14-2005, 05:14 PM I bought them here (http://www.nlmotoring.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=27_62_164_1528&products_id=6331) t0p_sh0tta 09-14-2005, 10:14 PM The tc's camber doesnt change to much. Not to be a prick, but do you have actual proof of this? I can't see how a drastic change in the height of a car will not drasticly affect the camber. reagulator 09-14-2005, 10:28 PM i think what he was saying was that even thought the camber changed it isnt a big enough change to require a camber kit. The suspension is adjustable enough to fix it without a kit SciFly 09-15-2005, 03:17 AM Not to be a tick but I do bite a bit :P to write to say, it does not hurt much to have a degree or so of negative camber in front. This would make an aid to cornering because the roll of the car uprights the cambered wheel on the outside to a more nearly vertical condtion. Cornering traction is markedly improved. There is a penalty more or less to tire tread life, but even that can be mostly avoided by compensating with a bit of toe-out. With front camber in particular you can see that straight line traction is trans-figured over to cornering traction and reduced understeer. sensay 10-02-2005, 03:25 PM i have H&R Race springs and at first the camber was bad but with a simple alignment it was all good lo_bux_racer 10-03-2005, 07:54 PM Not my experience. Negative camber is all good for drop the tC can make. Toe is not. A 2" drop got me 7/16" toe in at the back. Not good at all. Toe is easily corrected as is rear camber, but the front camber is more challenging to restore to stock numbers (which promote severe understeer anyway). |
