Although I would like to point out that I got them from trdsparks.com for an awesome price... $155 WITH shipping. Not bad when TRD is selling them for $200.

lol. Yeah, I'm going to take some of my car now, the 'before' pics. I'll try to keep track of where and how so that after the install, we can see how much difference the TRD's make. I was also going to see how many fingers fit in the wheel well now, take a pic of that, then take the same after the install.

I was reading up on it and it doesn't seem so difficult, just need to buy some spring compressors, but I'm going to shop around, plus a few of my friends are like, "I know a guy who can..."
My biggest hesistation is with the rear springs, since you pretty much have to diassemble the entire trunk-area to remove the struts.

it takes 5 mins or less to remove what u need from the trunk to get to all three bolts. make sure you remove the wire to the trunk light on the left hand side so you dont rip it out.

You can bend the panel enough to get at the nuts, there is no need to completley remove it. BTW, wait a day or 2 to see how low it actualy is. mine probly went down another 1/2" after everything settled.

Here's a really dumb question... should I take it someone for an alignment, or is this something that can be done myself if I have the right tools?

Well, I got the springs yesterday, now I just need to find the time to install. I am hoping I can get it done this weekend...I hope.

Anyway, so AFTER the springs, should I go for the sway bar, or an air intake (probably going to buy Weapon R). I would think sway to 'complete' my suspension mods.

That's what I was thinking...besides $150 sway bar vs $250 intake, not ot hard of a choice!

Eventully I'll get rims later on down the road...I'n not too crazy aboubt the 18in Enkeis, but I can appreciate that I have them...for now :)

Is there an AutoZone (www.autozone) near you? Or, any other parts store similar? They "loan" tools like the compressors. You pay a small amount ($40 I think) and when you're finished with them you take them back and get your money back.

lol. See, it's that kind of attitude that makes me not want to do it!

Ok ,so we know getting to the bolts (like in the trunk) is going to require some work. But other than that... (and I'm not trying to make this seem 'easy', just trying to sum up):

1. Loosen the necessary bolts, jack up car, removed tires.
2. Carefully remove lines, remove bolts from hub, remove the top bolts
3. keeping track of orientation, remove strut, support hub by either tying it up, or using jack to hold it up
4. Use spring compressor on old spring
5. Take apart strut assembly, keeping careful track of what goes back in what order, and how the spring sits in the strut itself
6. Remove old spring, use spring compressor on new springs, install new spring onto strut, put back together
7. Removed spring compressor, install strut and all nuts/bolts, use torque wrench if available, make sure lines are secured back to strut.
8. Put tire back on. Move to next strut.

Is that it in a nutshell? I know it's going to prbably take me all frickin' day to do it though.

Thanks for the auto-zone tip, I didn't know that and definitely will look into it. Also, any reason to use loctite on the nuts when replacing?

This thing is saying to remove all kinds of crap, like the rear suspension lower brace, the parking brake cable...I never read this in any other instruction...it it safe to assume that these are unnecesary steps?

Also, the reason I linked this is because it gives a very clear picture of the 'angle' and 'alignment' needed for the rear struts.

VERT TRUE! And not "somewhere" - take it to the dealership for a 4 wheel alignment. It'll be the best $59.00 you can spend!

it doesnt really matter where it is taken too, dealership or not. trd springs are a drastic drop at all. any tire shop can allign the tires

I guess you missed the TSB with the revised specific OEM +/- values but if you're sure your local TireKing is current, then have at it... Like I said, you can pay $59.00 at your local dealership or have some guy working on his GED at night spin the wrench on your ride for the same price. Ps. I just went through this last week - you choose...
