Well, I got the Ceramic Chromed pieces back. I was unable to get the 2 pieces in Blue because it was a 2 week wait on the line. So I will do that locally down the road Powder Coat. In the mean time, I had them do everything CermaKrome - good to 1800 deg. What do you all think? One thing I need to find is the pin key on the back housing of the turbo must have come out. Now I need to find one or make one. :tap: Edit - Thanks to Kenny...don't need it.

Well, ran into a few problems I have been fighting. On the auto...the tranny cooling lines run in the way of the down pipe....had to pull them back to finish that part. They are touching the pipe, so I will have to buy some braided line tomorrow and just re-run them. It will look better anyway.
My DC strut bar gets in the way to the throttle body with the pipe.. But, if you remove some of the pipe, then the engine cover won't fit right....so, I'm not sure what I'm going to do there.
Oh the oil pan. That bad boy is something else to remove.
All in all it would take about 4 to 5 hours max to install. I had the sweet fun of removing the K&N CAI - tire off, etc.
I have many pics which I will post tomorrow (today)...but here is one for now. I need sleep
yea...the oil pan is a freaking beast!! we took a rubber hammer to it and went berserk on it. after a few good beatings it came off.....nice looking kit man. glad the zpi turbo kits are spreading now. i went out to bennigans tonight and had people surrounding my car and suprized with the numbers. i heard so many times that its a nice looking kit and all kinds of compliments. anyways nice looking kit and g'luck tomorrow.

Thanks guys.
This install is really straight forward to do. The auto tranny lines brought me to a dead stop. So, I unbolted them from the mounting on the block and pushed them out of the way (after trying for an hour a dozen different ways to install). However, they are laying up against the dump pipe, so I'm in the process of finding the tranny side thread to get stainless steel lines. If anyone knows what thread size this is. let me know. It's the 2 lines on the bottom right (drivers) side.
The throttle body pipe was the next challenge. If you have a strut bar....the pipe won't work. Well, since I'm not loosing that, I cut about 2 1/2 inches off the pipe and it fits fine. Now the engine cover won't fit. So, I will have to dremel off about an inch of that to allow for the pipe. I may just cut up the stock one if a different pipe layout will work down the road and save my carbom fiber. Got too late to figure that out.
Other than that guys, not bad at all. Kenny and ZPI is the best customer service I have ever seen. He gave me his cell and called him about 3 or 4 times.
The oil pan is just the craziest thing I ever seen. OMG. Best bet is to just drive a screw driver in from the passenger side and beat the crap out of it. It will go.

Na guys, I'm finished. Took about another 2 hours to braid the lines, fix the carbon fiber engine cover and clock it....Then out driving it around....listening for any issues. All seems perfect at this point. Keep checking for any oil leaks or loosened up parts. All in all....certainly is a DIY job. 1 person can do it in 6 hours easy. I ran into issues with the auto lines and I'm particular about how things look.
This thing spools so dang fast it's sweet. Oh, and the BOV with the waste gate  Not the most quite car on the road for sure under WOT.
I will also say it has improved the exhaust sound 100%. No boost take off and crusin...much deeper sound.
Then my daughter gets home from work at 9:30 and asks to take it out. Now I was crusin around for about a 1/2 hour. She brings it back at 10:30 and the dang CEL was on. She said it sounded like it backfired a few times. Off of full boost I suppose :tap: She just loves the BOV
I checked everything and all looked ok. I cleared the CEL and drove it for about a 1/2 hour on and off boost and no CEL and I didn't hear any backfire.
She asked me how to make it woosh at idle. As Kenny told me...no load no boost no woosh.
More pics tomorrow guys and I'll video some drive by's (in a parking lot). SOmeone just needs to tell my who can host them.

I've only had the tC for a few months so I'm not sure if there are any other ways, but the simplest is to just disconnect the battery for a while. Sorry for the delay guys....my daughter worked all weekend and kept the car and I left the camera at work Friday when I left to finish up  . We are going to the track this Friday night for a car show and drag race at Gateway International and she wants to run it. So, we will be able to video tape her runs.
Everything is running great on the car. No troubles at all and it performs and sounds outstanding. The support from ZPI was fantastic.....
I did blow out the wastegate gasket, so per Kenny (he said they are pretty cheap), I used hi temp gasket maker and seems to be holding great.
I explained to my daughter that she can't be at WOT and just let off the gas as it will cause the backfire from the fuel....so in the interest of saving the cat converter, don't do that. I will get more pics this evening for everyone since I got my camera today at work.

Yea. I think the problem is when you have it wide open and just let off, the fuel correction can't respond to it fast enough from full boost and the unspent fuel gets dumped...hits the cat and bang. Not doing that, she hasen't heard any more so that appears to be the issue.

Yah that is basically it. When I am running without a CAT on the MR2 it will throw flames after WOT runs after 3rd just from the sheer amount of fuel and pig rich AFRs between gears. It could be leaner it sounds, as could my MR2, but as I figure an exhaust or cat is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to replace/repair then a blown engine.
And SD, that is a phat install man!

Thanks. Yes, a new cat is much cheaper than replacing a solid hunk of aluminum engine block. At this time, I'm not runnin an IC with the stage 0 yet. I did see a stage one that didn't hang out like that anymore from ZPI. So, that would probably be the way I go if I can't find a smaller one.

There are 3 of them. I mounted the 12" right on the plastic of the radiator shroud. Been there 6 months...spring summer. No problems. The other 2 are mounted right up under the qtr panel lip and those are 5 inch I believe. I got them from a sponsor on here scionspecialistvegas.

The pipe I ended up removing about 1.5 to 2 inches. Right now it's about 3/4" below the strut bar. I wanted to keep the strut bar more than the engine cover. One is bling the other is bling and function.

I can attest to Methanol and water injection being great to use with a turbo. I was able to run 13PSI on my Matrix 1ZZ becuase of it with no issues whatsoever.
Originally I had the Aquamist basic system but it would continue to dump water into the charge pipe when the throttle was closed and when back on the gas I could generate some huge backfires, fun:)
I then went with a D2 system that was metered along with fuel delivery and the car ran better overall as well as fixed the big backfire issues.
Another problem the car had at 12-13PSI was losing spark and cutting out above 5,500 RPM, we installed some colder plugs but did not help much so I tried some copper plugs, I forget if one or two steps colder and it never missed a beat after that.
Platinum plugs may of worked as well but the Platinums just did not seem able to keep up.
From what I have seen here you guys are still running Platinums, correct?

I know, I went through several Iridium heat ranges with the same issues. Dyno operator told me the boost was blowing out the spark and I needed to try copper plugs;)
True or not as to what was happening, the plugs definately fixed it:)

That's odd. High boost Supras like iridium plugs. Maybe it's their 1960s combustion chamber technology (no, I'm not joking).

That sounds awsome. OMG, you guys are gonna have some fun with the Honda peeps. I know none of them around here have seen a turbo TC and certainly nothing like yours. This is the last of the Midnight Madness weekends, so it will be loaded with lots of runners.
I use those hose kits. I remove the old hose, slide the wrap over, pull tight and tape each end and hose clamp back on. Some of them have the couplers. Pretty much the time is removing the hoses.

My oil temp peaks at about 223 degrees and the oil pressure is at 16-20 at idle when the car is warmed up.

Thanks Munch. SO far, the oil temp peaks about that temp which is good to know. The oil pressure however does make it down to 10 some times but usually sits about 15 to 20 PSI.

When you have been driving the car around for a while especially under hard boost and come to a stop and idle for a while are you burning off extra oil at all?? On my xB when I would stop after running for a while, i would start to burn oil off the turbo and out the exhaust. I had to put a restrictor to the turbo oil feed line and a gauge off the filter block just to regulate the oil psi to the turbo to keep it from smoking at idle. Too much oil to the turbo and you will blow out your seals. This is very common on the T20 and T25 turbo, just was wondering if you were getting the same from the 16G...I believe turbos like to see around 30 psi, anything more than that is just gonna do long term damage.

No prob...its a simple solution if you do run into the problem, lemme know, I might even have an extra restrictor lying around but you would just hafta go and buy a cheap gauge to monitor the psi going to the turbo.

Oil pressure feeding a turbo is not biggest problem as to why people blow the seals. A lot of time when you add a resistor or they use small hole fittings this actually increase the oil pressure it just lowers the volume. The key is to mate it with the right size return line.
Most people use a small oil return line and the oil can not drain quick enough. It is pressure coming in a gravity taking it out. IF you use a -4 line feeding it you need to use a -10 to drain if you use this you will never have a problem of over oiling the turbo

No, we got there a little late (daughter on time? ). She watched a few cars run and decided she didn't want to do it. She was concerned she would look funny in her little TC with all those muscle cars. Everyone was trying to talk her into it, but she said nope. Then we left shortly after that as the drunk rednecks were making comments about throwing bottles and keying the imports (about 60 Scions) all lined up.
So, Saturday morning my brother called her and told her he would take her over there this Wednesday to the Test and Tune runs and show her how to do it and make some timed runs. They are set to go and I'll video. One way or another, we will get some vids

Her boyfriend might have an issue with the marriage proposal, but I wouldn't be shocked it's not the first time that's happened
Right now, I don't have an intercooler on the stage 0. Not because I don't want one (it would cool things down a bit), but because I can't find a stealth one. I don't want to see the pipes and paint the thing black. That is an excellent idea to have a shop fab a FMIC for ya, might be the route I have to take.

No link, but I just bought the kit from one of the local auto parts stores. AutoZone I believe.

The FMIC I have will mount upside down without too much trouble, but you would need to get all other piping custom bent and it would be 100% stealth. ZPI did PoizenTC's FMIC like that.
