Default How to install ground wires!!! help

OK I need help installing my ground wires last time i did it my car didnt start so i dont wanna do that again. If any one could tell me exatly what bolts every wire is suppsed to be connects it would be greatly appreciated.

THis is the one i have it has 7 wires

How to install:

1. Open garbage can and insert grounding wire kit.

2. Next, slap yourself across the head for wasting money on a product that doesn't work.

Instead of 1 going to all ignition coils, the one you have should have a wire to each ignition coil. But don't take my word for it.

I'll second that. Anyone who really thinks this is a 'performance' add-on is just plain lying to themselves. The only reason your car would 'feel' any faster afterwards is because you just emptied out your wallet buying a 'Super Speed Race Grounding Kit.'

If anything, it's for show, and so you can become the butt of the joke everyone who actually knows anything about cars and electricity makes about your car.

Right after you finish the grounding wire install, the next best thing to make your car faster is some nice vendor stickers (they say 1/2 hp per sticker or something like that) or some full body vinyl...

It has been proven that the only thing this kit will do is give you a better ground. I no longer have flickering lights on the car. This is due to better grounds. If you think or you beleive you can get horsepower increase out of wire I have some swamp land in Arizona Iwould like to sell you. So when your friends ask you whay tell them its for a better ground and for show! or they will call you a . This reply is not meant to anger anyone, this is my opinion.

I've seen them installed, and if you have a lot of other 'look' mods done, some of them do 'look' really nice. BUT the claims you see about getting better horsepower, more spark, etc. are completely bogus.

Ditto with the 'voltage stabilizers' that connect between the terminals on your battery. It's a box. With some capacitors in it. AND a sticker.

People DO use caps to smooth out the power supply to amps and such and help deal with the current draw--but if you've ever seen a pro install, they use HUGE caps. Not ones that fit in a 1x2x2 box. These go right up there with the 'universal' chips they sell on ebay. Most of them are a bare resistor that you connect in place of your MAF sensor. Some even come with a box AND a sticker...

And just for clarity, HOW in the world did you connect this kit in a manner where your car wouldn't start? The only way that should happen is if you disconnected something else, connected it to the positive battery terminal, or grounded something out.

He paid $40+ for all seven, might as well connect them.

Did anyone else notice that the price at that site varies depending not so much on how many wires it comes with, nor what it is made of, but based on what sticker is on it? Seems like the NRG sticker one with only 3 wires must be the highest performance.

(Sorry, couldn't help it.)

Chill man, I'm not trying to be a butt (even if it sounded like it). Almost of the other stuff you have in your sig on your car is great--I just wondered about the wires.


jallamas already gave you the best answer to your question that you're likely to find.

The idea behind the ground kits is to improve the ground between the body, battery, and engine. In line with that, you usually put them in to best facilitate the ground. There is no 'perfect' way to connect everything. It's all 'best guess' or if you really want--ohm it out with a multimeter. If I were putting one in a car, I'd make sure there was a wire connecting to the negative terminal on the battery, one to the alternator housing, one to the other side of the engine, and one to each side of the engine bay. Then one (or two) to the head, and finally one to the tranny (if it's an auto). If you have any left, I'd connect to the firewall.
