Anyone make a woody yet? [Archive]

We have a Custom trim carpenter buying one of these for exactly that purpose. He says it will take the better part of a year for him to do it though. :( He showed me a sample of the wood (can't remember the name of it)when picking out his color and it is going to look SICK! :D

You know... normally I would call it retarded too, and on most modern cars it would look like ___.

After seeing the photoshop job though, I am rethinking it. This could actually work on an xB, as long as it's real wood and not that vinyl crap and it's done right. It would cost $1000's to do it right though. No one could ever make a kit good enough to do it up to my standards at least. It would have to be a custom job.

It would have to be on a dark green or burgundy xB to look right too, I think.

I'd love to see one done that way, not slammed or on 19" blingin chrome either :roll:

it would look all wrong with the wood. Just with no drop or 1" or less drop and some tasteful 16" rims with a flat finish (no chrome bling-bling)

That would be interesting.... :o

I think so called "woody" goes better with lighter colors. It will look good on white.

With that said, most of woody mod on modern cars are too fake. PT Cruiser, and even that custom job on Element...

If it's done right, I think it will look really classy.

All woodies could be ugly if done wrong... but do it right, and you got the old school look... And don't be dissuaded by people who don't dig it, some people just won't ever understand...

My shop (DB Motorsports) designed this Element Woody...it is a true woody, has a nitrous express kit on it, 20" Rims, airbags and a pretty crazy system...what an ugly way to spend what they said cost roughly $20,000...not to mention the fact that the Element is fugly...

Don't be too hard on your clients :D Personally I think they pulled off a miracle and made an Element look great. And I think a woody Element makes thematic sense, even more so than a woody PT Cruiser.

LOL it does look like a fake a$$ plastic vinyl. this only looks good on certain vehicles but it would have to be done right.. like the element that was is badass the accord wagon does not look good looks to fake and the colors do not go but thats just me

That....is ugly! Plain and simple....just ugly.

I like the idea of someone doing a xB woody! I think it'd be cool! The Element, however, does NOT make a good woody. :x

If you ever see the car in person you would gain a whole new appreciation for it, it is all airbrushed and flawless, the car is finished front to rear and absolutely FLAWLESS
