thanks, you're OK but lets understand the bottom line:
I am not off base in my deductions, I do lack total accuracy in minor details of past eventsm because I must work from memory, because my posting record was totally expunged, including PM correspondence. Only the Team has access to that stuff and they do not share it with me.
to theTeam:
When I am locked out this time, I -demand- that entire record be removed, if vandalism is the order as it was the last time when I was on SL as xBoxer.
Either take it all down, nor none; not one thread removed, not one more posting removed from the record. Recently the entire, retired "Lame ___ Euphemized" thread was removed. At least, I cannot find it by any search yet. Retired Off Topic posts exist going back to 2004. This newly destroyed thread of mine was made only a few months ago.
No selective cleaning out of this SciFly record, if you please.

A harmless thread about ___ tolerance, containing fine anecdotes, with not one word of rancor. It was recently erased by some person or persons on the Team.
-It was a thread of my authorship.
-It was not pro-___.
I-t was pro-tolerance of ___ people.
-It told of men and women I knew who were really fine people, who are now dead by
murder or illness.
-It was not suggestive.
-It told of my recent chance-remeeting with the only girl I ever took on a date, back in eighth grade. That was a warm story. We hugged and she remembered to me when she saw me that day a few months ago "Reid, is that Reid Welch? I'm Peggy! Peggy K! You took me on my first date ever! Do you recall?" Right. I don't suppose the xB appeals to gays in particular.
It has no boy-catching status. It has the oddest lines of any car on the road.
It is not... projecting a Calvin Klein image. If anything, xB is a car in jockey shorts and I just gave it a wedgie. But xB does not mind or take offense. It knows that only a select few can "get it"
At the Clark Howard forum I defuse xB haters
http://clarkhoward.com/p/boards/ch/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=clarkhowardcars&Number=538417&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&part=
and then went on to make publicity for self and for xB, because we all know it's a pretty good and special little car:

Here is the Urbandictionary.com definition
1. asexual link send redefine 47 up, 3 down
a person who is not interested in or does not desire sexual activity, either within or outside of a relationship. asexuality is not the same as celibacy, which is the willful decision to not act on sexual feelings. asexuals, while not physically sexual-type folks, are none the less quite capable of loving, affectionate, romantic ties to others.

There is no chat room. I do know of perinneal threads where the regulars talkabout bazzoomiest girls and favorite body parts and that's all fine.. soo
Since this thread has answered its questions about gays in Scions, then just start up a social thread if we can't morph this one in that direction.
I don't think anyone wants to make oogly threads about men but we do like to meet one another for the variously diferent people we are.
For the oggly part of life there are other venues. But, as I say: I do not like double standards. No minority group could like double standards. Careful moderation is the key. If in doubt, ask Kevin xB. He's a very clear and careful thinker. It would not be amiss to have one openly ___ moderator on board at SL.
Nominating Kevin xB now for -them- to think about. Nice guy. Sherlock-ian in his clear thinking, in word-parsing, as is the man who made out he marks on my upper arm a master of visual deductions. Not elementary, Watsons. Geniuses.

of course not. looking at it from the choosers point of view, any person can choose any car; people have varying taste. but looking at it from the chosen side, certain cars, are "generally" chosen by ____ people. imo, in order they seem to be:
vw cabriolet
vw jetta
vw bug (new version)
mazda miata
jeep wrangler
bmw 3series convertible
certainly not all of these cars are driven by ____ people and not all ____ people drive these cars.
just like all hummers are not driven by men with small you know whats, not all chrysler 300s with 24" wheels are driven by african-americans, not all camaros and firebirds are driven by new jersey gold chain wearing italians or drug dealers, not all older monte carlos and impalas with spoke wheels are driven by hispanics, etc....however, you cannot deny patterns that seem to exist.

I don't see "communities" in my life. Well, only the one: human society.
If I belonged to ___ orgs, then I'd say "yokay", to lable of "community of activists". But I don't belong to any such things nowadays.
Speaking only for myself, I don't like to schism people into "communities".
If I were a Catholic, sure! I'd be a member of the Catholic community.
(illustration)
But! I happen to have no interest in religion of any kind. But this does not make me a member of any "atheist community", for I don't know what -that- would be and would not join into any organized anti-God groups.
Similarly I don't join into pro-anything groups or communities other than the one community here: of reasoning people.
For we gays to set ourselves apart (together?) in a "community" is of course, giving the wrong impression to some other peoples. Some gays may join special interest organizations with agendas (as do straight people, theirs). Again, I do not call this an overall community/ compartmentalization effect.
Anyway, "we" (whatever "we" means to gays) are not an offshoot community from the community of Humans. We are at best, a catorgory or subset for demographic purposes only. We gays are not separate, new or even different from the mainstream except in our bedrooms, really.
Bottom line: Gays are not an offshoot of the "straight community". We are all of one-only community. To consider the big picture otherwise is to perpetuate division, to maintain some sort of ghettoization of the past to continue.
In my opinion this is unacceptable. Particularly because enemies of we minority gays use the "community" lable to excoriate us for our "agenda", our desire to live on equal terms in every venue, phase and role in society.
-need to pare this down somehow, but for now I play safe to cover all the semantical bases-
thanks!

Glenn Reynolds Takes a Cheap Shot at Life
Buoyed by the successful killing of Terri Schiavo, Glenn Reynolds carried this little note this morning:
IT'S NOT LIKE THERE'S A WAR ON, or anything.
The link takes you to a post on the Corner, where Kathryn Lopez noted the passing of the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act in the House.
Galley Friend C.L. writes in:
All of which makes me wonder if Glenn would be willing to trash talk Martin Luther King, Jr. After all, why should he have bothered with civil rights or basic matters of justice? It wasn't like there was a war on, or anything.
Good point.
Update, 12:00 p.m.: Reader AK adds:
Reynolds is right. There's a war on. We shouldn't spend our time worrying about other matters, like transhumanism, ___ marriage, the Mazda RX-8, campus photoblogging, the Nikon BJ6900LMNOP, our brother's bands, and space exploration.
Strike OUT here. Ha ha, no hits, no runs, no drips, no errors: The RX-8 batted straight.

But homophobia runs deep. Straight guys do not like to share page space with open-talking gays.
I never understood the term "homophobia". It's misused. A "phobia", by definition, is a fear. The term homophobia literaly means...a fear of homosexuals. Just because someone may not like homosexuals, doesn't mean they are afraid of them.
There can be a distinction between how someone feels in this matter. I myself, do not approve of homosexuality. I believe it's a sin and it's against God's design for us. That does NOT mean that I dislike ___ people. We are ALL siners and it's not up to me to judge anyone. I could easily be friends with a ___ person and I try to treat everyone with respect. That doesn't mean I approve of your chosen "lifestyle". Do you see the difference? The problem is, anyone who is anything other than 100% accepting to everything ___ is labeled as a homophobe.
SciFly

In a real sense I do agree with you. You are not "afraid" of gays. Certainly, not in the sense that some deeply frightened, insecure males are afraid that, somehow, the seed is in -them, too- (and that is often the case: most peeps are mixed to some degree- but never act on it or become terrified by it)
On the other hand, employing the word in it's less pure sense, religious proscriptionists (you are one such and say so), are "homophobic" in the way that your religion may well denounce gays as abominable sinners. Evil corruptors that would spread the evil through all mankind if not checked.
Some fundamentalists call us mignons of a literally-real devil.
Some call for us to be murdered (Swaggart).
Moderate people of all sorts recognize nonsense when they hear it.
Ignorate people, who might be moderate and tolerant by nature sometimes become -inculcated in the religion of homophobia by zealots of religious fringes.. or semi-mainstream, depending on how we see the question.
You don't homophobe. But your religious sect does.
I simplify only to the extent necessary to make the point.

But it's equaly clear that we are to love EVERYONE and to treat eachother with respect. Anyone who teaches otherwise is taking the Bible out of context. Love the siner, hate the sin. Gotta run. i think the phobia in homophobia relates to the indivisual's fear that they might be homosexual. It doesn't mean you are afraid of gays.

Is it when you are older and just decide to experiment? Did you think it was okay to be ___?
I hope you don't take offense to these questions I just have always wondered these things because where I am from it's not really acceptable to be ___. Probably "Christianity". It's got quite a track record of prounouncing things this or that via the bible. But if we carry this branch of the discussion further it won't do eithe of us any satisfaction or alter any minds. So this is not the thread I guess to speak of moralistic implications of a natural variance in mammalian life which has always existed and must always exist because "God" made "us" this "way". I'll do that later and -no worries, guy. Quesions are never any offense from you or anyone.

And it's all good because we are not a "community" of anything but this: the family of humankind.
Let us not make false barriers. Wrong is not wrong except by what subdividers of humanity would teach, would put upon all men. There is no wrong in nature. There is only cultural taboo, generally implemented to help assure the success of some parochial program/ agenda. I almost want to apologize for the last sentence, except that really, it is just like that. At what point do you realize you are ___?
Can only speak for self. Am unusual.
Discovered when I first had sexual emission, not before.
And the trigger for that interest was a certain boy's backside in the seventh grade gym class. And this was very confusing, upsetting to me. It was not my choice but it was my fate. Same goes for you, whoever is reading here.
-I came from a normal family
-No abuse, no exposure to gays in media or print or anything. Had heard ___ jokes and "knew" that was an undesirable thing (cultural training/brainwashing)
Secretive from family at puberty.
-was intensely disgusted with self
-attempted to deny those thoughts. looked over girl pictures. could do. did not like at all.
-I was fifteen and suicidal. no one to ask, no one to talk to but my best buddy who was straight and cool. He grounded me. To this day I think he saved my life by saying "reid, you're OK! I don't give a rats ___ if you like guys. It makes no difference in who you are. you are you and so what?
-have always respected people who tolerate eccentricity and can see the big picture. -The alternative is to drive teens into depths of dispair that kills many of them. Probably the leading cause of teen suicide is that mixed sexual feeling which many teens must struggle through: My family will shun me. I'll lose my friends. Disgrace my family, etc.
-I went on to join the USN to become independant and get life experience. I by age nineteen I was at peace with myself. It was that year that I met my first companion to whom I gave that first experience. And this confirmed the four prior years had been wasted in self-pity, self hate and denial which was nothing good. Was everything toxic. I could've killed myself. But I did not. I lived and continue to do so.
Feel so strongly about this -inalterable fact of basic sexual identity for each one of us to go with, as we were meant to do- by our biology! It's not choice and it's not alterable.
Now- I'm purely ___. And this is quite rare. Most all guys who identify as ___ have tried both sides extensively, even long term marriages, before settling more or less to one side and identifying themselves as this-or-that.
I'm a ___ guy and that's that. At age 51 I don't think it's gonna flop the other way. Inf fact, have never heard of flopping "straight". It isn't that this way is 'better' cos it surely is not but another side of the mirror. It's more like: those who are mostly ___ at root find this will always be true. It cannot be altered. It is in the brain chemistry. Nor is homo-desire contagious to a more or less straight guy. Does not happen.
Sexual identity is probably best defined by: what's your favorite gender to sleep with? Which do you most fantacize about? Many or most can privately admit some sort of minor conflicts in the past.
I'm ___. Another guy might be 90 percent straight. I happen to be 100 percent the other way and, this is rare. So I am not a very mainstream example. No one made me this way. That is my key point to make. No one, no person, no cultural cause. Inborn. Who put it there? God or -chance-, right? So, why is this inescapable preference to be frowned at by uncomfortable people?
----
don't end heavy, reid! tell a joke. why not?
Four men went golfing together one day; three headed to the first tee and one went into the club house to take care of the bill. The three men started talking, bragging about their sons. The first man told the others, "My son is a home builder and he's so successful that he gave a friend a new home - for free."
The second man said, "My son was a car salesman and now he owns a multi-line dealership. He's so successful that he gave a friend two Cadillacs."
The third man, not wanting to be outdone bragged, "My son is a stock broker and he's doing so well that he gave his friend an entire stock portfolio."
The fourth man joined them on the tee after a few minutes of taking care of business. The first man mentioned, "We were just talking about our sons. How is yours doing?" The fourth man replied, "Well, my son is ___. I'm not totally thrilled about it, but he must be good. His last three boyfriends gave him a house, two cars, and a stock portfolio."

Sorry, they are correct. And I have no agenda whatsoever except to
-encourage young people not to die worrying over sexual identity. It will be what it will be.
-tolerate and embrace all people. Especially those who make you uncomfortable; who challenge you. This is one reason that -I- am here!
it is just that simple, folks.

I've had tendencies since I was like 10.
When I'm drinking I'd much rather climb a lady than a guy.
However I've been the tomboy and blended in more with males most of my life, even when I'm being girly I'm still brash. I do not really ever in my life think that I can maintain a relationship with a female because women are evil. I should know! ;)
Females gossip alot, and withhold all these things until they decide it's time to let it all out and be the biggest backstabbing things. They are loud in a group and start doing that laughing crowd fit that sounds like a coup of chickens.
I've had mixed feelings on the subject for years.

Probably "Christianity". It's got quite a track record of prounouncing things this or that via the bible. That's exactly right. The Bible is God's word, and as such, it is the final authority for the Christian faith. I'd be very afraid of a church or religion that didn't view the Bible that way.
Let us not make false barriers. Wrong is not wrong except by what subdividers of humanity would teach, would put upon all men. There is no wrong in nature. There is only cultural taboo, generally implemented to help assure the success of some parochial program/ agenda. Here again, if you use the Bible as your final authority, it's very clear that God has set standars of right and wrong. Without it, it would be up to society to detrmine right and wrong. And GOD help us if that ever happens.
Why is it that if someone disagrees with, or is against homosexuality, they are being "intolerant" or a "homophobic", but you can make statements like that about the Christian faith and God's teachings, and it's okay? Seems like a double standard Reid. Seems like you want everyone to not only accept you, but also to believe what you practice is normal. Yet you turn right around and imply that the Bible and Christianity are only in exsistance to "assure the success of some parochial program/ agenda". Have you heard me mention the homosexual agenda? Exaclty who is being intolerant here?

I like Reid okay though. He has never said anything negative towards me even though I told him that I do not agree with his lifestyle. In my mind I do what I feel is right and he does so in his. Do I agree with his lifestyle? No. Do I still love him as my brother in Christ and pray for him? You bet I do! That's what I believe is right.

I too find it very odd that if someone wants to promote any belief they have it is fine as long as it is NOT in any way a Christian belief.
I respect all the views given here. It makes no matter to me if you are straight or not, respect me as I respect you. I find it hard enuff to live my life the way I should, I sure don't have time to try to change someone else's to the way I would like to see. It is not my place to say what is right or wrong. I can just offer my hand in friendship and brotherhood.
Besides, my oldest daughter has a friend she went to school with that we all knew was ___ before he admitted it. I still accept him as almost one of the family, I just leave the room when he wants to have a "Girls night out" with my wife and kids.....

Yeah, 'ewww' is how that appeals to us just the same as you regulars are revulsed the other way.
As said, am not against Christians. In fact I do think I hold to many of the same basic tenents. Much of it is the Golden Rule.
Have had fine friends all my life of both camps, all religions, etc. So this is not a problem for me. However, there is that conflict for many Christians: Bible is God God is Bible and it's all to be taken literally. Abominators are to be shunned. As at Sodom, God may destroy them. Hence: open season forever to castigate homosexuals.
Am glad you folks above don't get all hard against us here. Thank you.
Suggesting, along with manatee that we move on from bibles and God in this discussion, to speak to each other on grounds that we -can- touch in common?

I like Reid too. Several of his posts are quite entertaining. Like I said before, there is a distinction between accepting a homosexual, and accepting homosexuality. There is a big difference. The person is to be loved but that doesn't mean I'm going to ever accept homosexuality as normal or okay.
I have a 12 year old son who is already showing a healthy interest in girls. But if he would come to me someday and tell me he's ___, I would still love him. He will always be my son, and nothing will ever change that. BUT, I would never be able to accept that "lifestyle".

Morally I think it is wrong either way but won't lie and say that I wouldn't watch if two hot women were having sex. I'm a guy! Guys think that two women having sex is very attractive. We as men are more attracted to physical and visual than emotional so two attractive women together is something that will get our attention.

Ahem.. we ___ men are physiologically and emotionally the same as you except for the target of interest
Ergo, I kinda like it to watch a film with two hot guys having sex.
so whut's da problem and what's the distance in our perspective?
two things only:
-Biblical prohibitions
-the worry/ingrained that somehow the straight guy is vulnerable to "flipping over"'. Which is not a valid fear.
Women don't have to deal with that factor, nor are they so self-deluding as we guys are.

I don't want you to think I don't see your point. I really do understand what you are saying. Now see mine.
One of the things with men is that we are re-producing machines. We have "evolved" into monogamous relationships but our genetics and instincts tell us to spread our seed to as many women as possible to carry on our genes. The more women there are the more seed we spread and this keeps our genes running strong. Another thing with men is that we are competitive. We do not like to have to compete with another male to spread our seed. If we are the only male in a group of females then we are the one who gets to re-produce. It's almost animalistic. Boy I hope that made since.

___ parade? oh what a fruity embarassment, always has been.
-there are these fringes in every "group".
The convulsively In Your Face kind are the ones we see on TV news.
case in point: When Pedro Zamora (remember him, season one of The Real World, mtv?) died, some months later there was an open memorial service for Pedros fans to attend.
This was held at the concert hall on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. Lincoln Road is a pedestrian boulevard; no cars.
I happened to be there because I'm was the piano tuner for that hall (home of the New World Symphony training orchestra) and had been tuning the workshop pianos.
A great ruckus was heard outside. I stepped out to investigate.
South Beach, you know, has a lot of gays. There was that Reverend what's his name... you may recall the name, I can't at the moment.
He had a cadre of imported protesters from his MidWest snake nest. About a dozen of these nut case zealots in all.
the signage I recall. no exageration:
PEDRO ZAMORA WENT TO HELL.
HOMOS SUCK SATAN
DIE ___GOTS FOR YOUR SINS
---and this is just a flip side of those extremists of hate; those ___- ___ parades which make me -shrink- with embarassment, thinking/knowing that THIS is the image of gays Middle America will be having nightmares about.
The parades are what -you- remember.
I remember...
I encountered Pedro Zamora on his deathbed... by accident...
He was dying in a patient room at Mercy Hospital which happened to be next to the room where a ___ friend of mine lay critically ill with HIV disease=AIDS.
The family was circled around their son. There was no disapproval of his living.
There was sobbing from the former cast members of The Real World, who escorted me out of the room.
One of them, that young political cartoonist, unloaded his sorrow on me. I listened.. Young people all over the nation mourned when their empathetic youth leader, voice for tolerance, lost his life to... "satan"??? To a viral complex.
Mental complexes are as fatal to gays as any virally induced disorder. You just don't see the graphic deaths of discounted ___ youth. They are not telegenic like young Pedro once was.

This is a walz-tune song. So dance with me, Sir?
Verrry romantically, please: :P
I hold your hand in mine, dear
I press it to to my lips.
I take a healthy bite from
Your handsome fin-ger-tips.
My joy would be complete, dear,
If you were only heeeere.
But still I keep your hand as...
A precious sou-ven-ir.
THE NIGHT YOU DIED
I cut-it-off.
(I really don't know why)
For now each time I hold it tight...
I get....bloodstains onnnnn my tie.
My joy would be complete dear
If you were only here,
But until they come and get me,
Iiiiiiiiii will hollld your haaaand in miiiine.
thank you.. you'll get an original poem later but
it may not be what you expect :lalala:

Interesting thread.
Personally I don't like lesbians...I like bisexual women. Those are more fun.
I feel everyone has the right to be what they want. I just hate it went there are all these damn special circumstances and laws individualizing these people that are different. Take hate crimes for instance, why should penalties be greater just because a person is ___ or black or purple or whatever. Isn't all crime based on hatred? People don't commit murder because they love their victims. So if I kill someone because I want their shoes, I get 20 to life. Now if that person was ___, the sentance is automatically life with possible death sentence (depends on state).
It cracks me up that people want equality but constantly want special crap to make them better or give them more advantages.

Noting as we carry on: Fourth day for this thread. 2800 reads at this time.
It is a topic about which all people are intensely curious!
Am glad there is no hate displayed. It's a good thread and it does not promote a thing other than peace of mind and security for all readers.
-there is no question that can't be asked here.
-neither "side" is interested in lambasting the other so far.
Remarkable! Good! HoOOORaaaay!
=====addendum in reaction to you above:
Take hate crimes for instance, why should penalties be greater just because a person is ___ or black or purple or whatever.
Because there are egregious crimes committed on pure hate basis by small numbers of people. IF you were to lynch a black person in MS, I'd hope they hang you in turn (speaking of illustration).
Hate crime laws are directed to very specific acts. Very interestingly, the Matthew Shepard story that gripped the nation some years back turns out NOT to have been a hate crime.
Most murderers are opportunists, sociopaths looking for gain of some sort. The hate crime killer does it for pure pleasure and status within his warped social sub-set at the trailer park. Hate crime laws put these idiots on notice that prosecution will be especially severe. In a -strange way- it seems to work. Federal agents will come into play in a hate crime case in Tupelo, for instance, yes? I think that's a good thing.

sidebar:
It's been a rough day here... caretaking foroldest RS2 owner, Ray... his adult granddaughter, sole adult kin, Larie, was due into Miami to spell me.
But this morning, her husband, working at their home fixing a room up for Raymond.... Sig fell off the ladder. Seven ribs broken, one of them fragmented. A punctured lung, And this wonderfully bright and beautiful woman -now- has to care not only for a toddler, a six year old and aged, ailing Ra, but also her hospitalized husband.
It rains all at once sometimes.
I detrack this far to remind us all what matters most:
helping out during a hard pull. I do pull for friends in need by -offfering-.
So do you all I am sure.
Raymond understands this new situation means that he must apply himself to recover from his surguries, with -real determination-. He's needed to help out, too!
I joke to Ray: Your goal now is to recover faster and better than Sig!
We laugh at small jokes played by fate. We worry for Larie. We will do our best to support -her-. Even a nearly tireless, young mother is not invincible against tears without family and friends closing ranks.
thanks,
Reid

I do not envy active bisexuals. I think my life is simple and unentangled. I hope yours will be likewise unfettered.

A famous line from "The Magnificent Ambersons", made into a fine movie by Orson Wells. The older man finds the younger man is headlong into life, racing towards likely difficulties/
He wishes to advise but.. holds back after initial probes.
"What can forty tell to twenty?"
applies here, in a different sort of way. I've mentioned one -maybe- problem.
Now, as a young adult you have had all the advisement you need from one such as me.
You don't reject it. You just don't see the -possible- future problems. But, having seen this hint you will keep it all in mind and all in balance and -probably- do just fine.
you're bold and fine. I so much wish to see young people avoid traps, or -thinking- they could alter their basic natures. Can't be done. You will have conflicts at some time but you can perhaps dance lightly enough to avoid stepping on your own toes.
Sexual urges of young males in particular are so powerful, that when stymied...
..is why so many confused young men went into the priesthood, you know? In a former time. Maybe less of that nowadays.

I mean i am still very attracted to girls, but again there are some guys that catch my eye also.
I remember telling myself that.....years ago. Now look at me. 8)
I think "bi" was just a stepping stone for me, because it seemed less likely to cause a stir when I would tell my friends if I still claimed to have some attraction to females. Never actually "went there" with a girl. No offense to the sexy mamas on SL, but I'm glad I didn't. Eventually, I realized there was nothing bi about me, and I learned to accept what was there all along.
I'm not insinuating that your situation is (or will be) similar in any way. It just reminded me of how I felt during the begining of my, er, journey.

Ok so this post is growing at an insane rate. In order to not backtrack I will limit my comment to recent posts. Even though there were SEVERAL post in the last three pages that I wish to have commented on.
Like Kevin I was "bi" before ___. But I chose to be bi. My whole childhood I was attracted to boys. My first crush was in elementary school (by crush means I wanted to kiss and hug). I didn't chose to be ___. I chose to be bi and told myself I was "half normal." Then I realized and chose to accept that I was ___. Accepting the truth is the ONLY choice that someone not straight makes. Believe me, as someone who knew Matt Shepard (just an acquaintance) we would not choose a life (it isn't a lifestyle btw) that is this hard or risky. Just my two cents...

my two cents....i see sexuality defined primarily in two ways;a person's sexual aim, i.e, why have sex? and their sexual object, or the other party involved.
healthy sexual aims obviously include expressing love, expressing "desire" and procreating the species. aims that are selfish are unhealthy (except when alone, nudge, nudge). heterosexuals and homosexuals can have unhealthy aims.
a person's sexual object or the "significant other(s)" can be the opposite sex or the same sex; both are ultimitely okay, except for cultural and religious mores against having a same sex partner.
our sexual desires exist somewhere along a spectrum that has strict heterosexuality on one end and strict homosexuality on the other. most of us are at either extreme with regard to the physical expression of our desires but are somewhere closer to center for emotional expression and relationships, etc.
this is why men hang out or play sports, etc., together and women shop and go to the bathroom in groups.
as an example, there was a lesbian couple living next to me and we became friends. one night after several beers one of them and i were intimite. her partner found out several days later and to get her back, she and i were intimite. the spectrum shifted for both of them and the aim was unhealthy, particularly in the last instanceimo.
i don't know why i used that as an example....yes i do....i love telling that story.
(p.s., until i moved i tried to find someone they were both ticked at....so they could both get back her at once....jk)

note: In my opinion selfishness is inherent in every single act. there is no altruism possible except, surely, in the near-certain sacrifice of one's life to save another. In every other instance, self-elevation or preservation or gratification is the aim. I am a fine example of selfishness, really. As a posting hog I do shine. And that is that!

 This is over all a very good topic. Great info. Learned some things and more. Its good to know that so many ppl are secure with there sexual preference. As I glanced over the pages in this topic, I saw talk about gays & lesbians. In my book they are the same thing, Some one of one sex who likes members of the same sex. So using the term ___ for this topic, does count in lesbians. The one topic I did not see talked about, is Bi-Sexual. Can one truly like love from both members of a sex, or are they just confused?
My point of view on guys not liking gays. As a guy, most guys cant seem to stand the idea of a guy doing another guy. I would think that for women, the idea of a woman doing another woman, is just as bad as it is to as. So being guys we are normaly turned on by the idea of 2 woman making love. I would think this holds true for woman, where they like to see 2 guys going at it.
Is being ___ bad? I dont veiw it that way. There are so many things one can find to hate you, so it does not matter. It is funny that with the pink stickers on my xB, I have my sexual preference question almost every day. I my self, do not know of one ___ guy who actualy likes the color pink. So I think its just the mental image of it being a girl color, that one thinks a guy who likes it must be ___. I could really care less what ppl think about what way I swing.
Poor placebo, why not take up the offer to meet some great SL members? If I had the chance, I would love to be able to meet both SciFly & Maria. A question to Maria, are you the same Maria I chat with from time to time on msn? If so, I learned something new from this topic.

I have a question. For some reason I have this theory in my head that ___ men are promiscuous. I guess in my head I see ___ men as just having sex with whatever ___ guy they choose when they choose. Is it hard for ___ men to have a steady relationship?

Yes, it is hard for ___ men to have a steady relationship. Why? Because men-to-men have zero difficulty finding a willing partner for a quicky.
We are built exactly the same way you straigtht guys are built.
Imagine a crazy world... where most all your women were as ready for instant lust as you yourselves are. Imagine there is no risk of pregnacy, no legal marriage to uphold (owww! the cost of cheating on a wife who takes by rights, half your dough)
If I were to say "In favor of ___ civil unions", one reason I am, is to -add legal weight to a ___ relationship so that it -might- stand a better chance of lasting long.
In our world we sorta consider three months of monogamy to equal one year of that bliss in your world. BUT we don't have even the approval of society to couple up. It's like: society drove us underground long ago. Destroyed careers when secrets were uncovered. Gays in many businesses are still made pariahs (Gee, I don't want -him- as my supervisor).
If gays had some access to legal protection of their union (I hate the M word applied to other than conventional weddings), then this would promote less promiscuity. A bit less. A bit more reason to settle down before 30 and stay home and stay safer.
The man is a man and he wants to go play around. You'd do it do if women were all as available as you straight guys would like them to be.

Yet I can site many of my ___ friends in very long term relationships. 23 years for myself. 56 years for the most senior union in my personal list of aquaintances.
We do "marry" and stay married quite well once we settle down.. well some of us do.

Break for humor again.
The Roaring '20's was a wild time all right. The flow of bootleg liquor, the rising of organized crime. The payoffs. The graft. And all this, in Harding's and Coolidges' Republican administrations. Social controls were laxing.
Gays were beginning to nose out, to sniff the air. Is it safe now? No. A deep depression was around the corner, just five years after this comic tune made our nation laugh in 1925
Hey Hey women are going mad, today.
Hey Hey fellers are just as bad, I'll say.
Go anywhere, just stand and stare .
You'll say they're bugs when you look at the clothes they wear.
Masculine Women Feminine Men,
which is the rooster, which is the hen?
It's hard to tell 'em apart today,
and SAY...
Sister is busy learning to shave.
Brother just loves his permanent wave .
It's hard to tell 'em apart today
HEY HEY
Girls were girls and boys were boys when i was a tot,
Now we don't know who is who or even whats what.
Knickers and trousers baggy and wide.
Nobody knows who's walking inside.
Those Masculine Women and Feminine Men
Masculine Women Feminine Men,
which is the rooster, which is the hen?
It's hard to tell 'em apart today
and SAY...
Auntie is smoking, rolling her own,
Uncle is always buying cologne.
It's hard to tell 'em apart today
HEY HEY.
You go and give your girl a nice kiss in the hall
but instead you find you're kissing her brother Paul.
Mama's got a sweater up to her chin.
Papa's got a girdle holding him in.
Those Masculine Women and Feminine Men
