Default HELP! How to remove water spots?

I just washed my BSP tC yesterday and I usually wash it under the shade when the sun is almost gone...since it's the coolest part of the day here in SoCal. After I was done drying my car I find these faint white water spots on both side of my doors and trunk area. This is the first time I've had this kind of problem and I have no idea why it won't come off. I tried some solutions like water/vinegar, a damp clothe, waxing it off and still nothing. I haven't tried clay barring it since I don't have a clay bar at the moment. It's just weird that I never washed my car under the sun, or when it's hot and also I dry my car asap. Anyone know why it causes these water spots and how to remove them without using a claybar? If clay barring it is my last resort then I guess I'll pick one up at a local auto shop. Oh yeah, one last thing the spots can't really be seen when it is exposed to sunlight but when it's under a shaded area...you can really see it...it's really odd. Advices and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

im not sure my cousin works at a dealership washing cars and told me he has some crap he sprays on cars that takes off the water spots, living in central cali the sun is hard to ge away from, damn water spots are a biatch, its typically i believe like when the water dries the minerals in the water get stuck on your car as the bubbles dry up or something, i heard that mr.clean water filter sprayer thing was supposed to be really good, but i cant afford so i have to live with the spots.

we get out water from a well, so its chock full of crap in it.

You can buy some "spray wax" stuff at autozone.

its not really wax, but it pulls off waterspots very well.

Clay bar.... I don't even dry my car anymore(at least the past couple of washes, since I'm building up my Zaino Layers), just straight to clay bar after washing and then aply the various Zaino layers

Avoid them in the first place with the Mr. Clean. It filters the minerals (which are what the white spots are) right out.

Or clay or detail spray. Both work.

Man mr clean is horrible! Leaves the paint dull and leaves a thin layer of film. Worst product I have tried, glad it was on my wifes corolla and not my tc!

I had no such problems. Did you use the Mr. Clean soap?

You could always use just the filter setting (no soap) to wash it off after using your preferred method of washing.

no such problems here either, used on my SW tC and my roomates RS2 xA ... granted obviously the white wont show the spots, but godamn the roof would, and it doesnt. Only time I get spots from Mr Clean is when I roll down the windows before the felt on the outside at the bottom fo the windows is still wet

If the spots are new, they should have come off with the water/vinegar solution. Now, if they were there for a few days and were allowed to sit in the sun they have more than likely etched into the clear coat. Don't worry, they can be removed, but you need to have them polished out. A clay bar won't work if the vinegar solution didn't. All clay does is remove surface contamninants, and if they have in fact etched into the clear coat, that is beyond the clay's capabilities.

Water spots occur because of the minerals in your water. Some areas have 'harder' water than others, so you need to be extra careful about drying everything. Make sure you at least wash in the shade, or wash during sun down or even at night if possible.

Again, don't worry, as long as they're not all over the car, it won't be a difficult fix for the right person. I've removed water spots from the hood of my brother's truck in about 10 minutes and they had been etched in for months.

There's no need to clay between applying layers of sealant. If you do you're just removing the previously applied layer. The best way to do multiple layers is to apply first layer, then do another the next day, QD'ing or washing the car as necessary. I wouldn't go anymore than 2-3 layers of Zaino, though. Anything more is a complete waste of product, time, energy, and money.
