Thomas Toyota / Scion In Joliet Illinois
If anyone is the market for a new Toyota or Scion DO NOT go to Thomas Toyota / Scion in Joliet Illinois. On 10/1 I went to this dealership to purchase a 2006 Scion tc. I took the car for a test drive and gave them to keys to my car to have it appraised. I got back from the test and was waiting for them to give me a figure on how much my car was worth. I told the sales manager what I wanted my payments to be around and he said no problem. I told him my dad was on his way to the dealership to sign all the paper and he said sounds good come get me when he gets here so we can finalize the deal. I was at the dealer for 2 1/2 hours at that point. Right when my dad got there the salesman walked up to me and said I have bad news. Someone else just sold the car to someone else. After asking him how the hell he could do that he replied with "We work on a first come first serve basis." I was there for at least an hour before the other people arrived there. I told him that and he said well we have a few more coming in on 10/15 that you can buy. I told him not to bother and that I would not buy a car from him. The sales manager did not seem to care that all this happened. It was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If you're in the market avoid this dealership at all costs. They don't care about the customer they are just in it to make money.
Was the dealership waiting on your dad to show up? Was the financing taken care of yet? I'm not saying that what they did to you was 100% right, but I can understand why the did it. I hear all the time my cosigner is going to be here in a little while they have perfect credit and so on. Then the co-signer comes in and I run their credit and it is not as great as I was told. I don't ever order a car for a customer without knowing how they are going to finance it. If I had one tC on the lot and one person told me that they wanted it, but I had to wait an hour or two for their co-signer to get there and there was another customer there cash in hand ready to buy the car I can't say that I wouldn't go with the sure thing. I don't know what exactly happened in your case, but if you were relying on your dad to co-x and they didn't have his credit run yet they really didn't have a deal on that peticular car. Plus they didn't know if once your dad got there if he was going to look at the numbers and say no. There are a lot of variables in a deal that can turn it sour in a matter of seconds. If someone has everything ready to go why doesn't he deserve the car over the person who doesn't? If a girl tells you that she wants to have a threesome with you and her friend as soon as her friend gets there and there is an equally hot girl and her friend is already there saying they want to have a threesome right no what would you do? You would go for the sure thing!
