What is the best race or funniest race you have been in with your xB?

Today I noticed I was getting close to 1k miles on the odometer so I decided to launch a little harder at a stop light just for a fun little start. Well that got the attention of a kid in an eagle talon who had a ricy muffler on. So at the next light he looked over and reved his engine a little. He was ready to spank my little econo box. So I decided what the hey, it's not like I'd be embarressed to be beat in this thing. So I turned traction control off and we launched at green. My wheels hopped a few times at the launch in 1st but I was a few feet in front of him as I chirped into 2nd. By then I was ready to see his tailights but I continued to pull ahead as I shifted into 3rd gear I was about 3/4 of (an xB) car length ahead of him. THen came 4th and I was over a car length ahead and so I put her in 5th and coasted back down to 55 and he kept going and blew past me as if he though we were still racing. It was the funniest thing ever, cause how bad of a driver do you have to be to lose to an xB with an eagle talon!! At the next light he wouldnt look over at me. How embaressing! That was my fun moment of the day today. Don't worry, I know an eagle talon can spank our cars...

 

I forgot to mention that I did not see the badging of his talon. I'm assuming he has the esi not the tsi. But either way! Come on!

 

If it was 1.8L 1st gen Talon, esp in auto they were BUTT SLOW (my friend had a 1st gen Eclipse with the 1.8L). Plus it may have been mechnically unsound, poor piloted, and/or laddened with an unnecessary excess of audio equipment.

The xB reminds me alot of my 91 CRX Si, 108hp on both, CRX was a tad lighter, gearing is close on both. The biggest difference I'd say is that my CRX is more aerodynamic (but what isn't compared to an xB).

But anytime a slow car beats a supposedly faster car, its hilarious.

 

my buddy who has a bone stock xB said he would smoke my XRS (15.5@91 bone stock at sac raceway) cause of the 400 lbs weight difference. we both have manual trannies. raced from a stop and it wasn't even close. only mods on the XRS are I/E. oh well, he said the xb can run 15's out of the box. BTW, he's only 19.

xB vs Ford Ranger "edge". raced from 60-100. after around 80 mph he stopped moving. win for me.

xB vs corolla S- raced on the freeway from 70-100. i lost. i had my friend in the car and about 500 lbs of dj equipment & records.

 

raced a neon the other night from light threw interstate and about 15 miles down the road... sad thing is he couldn't pass me... xA isnt a horrible car if u shift at around 6000, in 3rd it was at (i think) 80 and i know in4th i was at 100 even, still cant believe i took a 2.0 with a 1.5... he pulled into a parking lot and asked me what i was driving and i just popped my hood... he was embarassed, had a friend w/ him and got ragged on all night... lol

 

Im surprized there aren't more funny stories in here. I guess some are embaressing. The xb has a sporty "feel" to it, almost peppy enough to trick you into racing. Probably makes for some embarresing moments. If I still lived in Hawaii I'd race my moped against one, and win 0-60 in under 8 seconds.

Now, dont get me wrong, ive lost quite a few, but ive won a couple as well...
1996-98 mustang v6: we were messing around for a lil while and i beat him from a stop, rolling start, and in every gear it was amazing...
2000 and newer dodge neon: smoked him...actually it was a her
acura tsx: ok, he was faster, but i beat him off the line so ha, he passed me when i was in third
honda civic: I WIN, obviously, he had a fart can too
2004 corvette: i won...now he didnt know i was racing, i raced him for three feet, and i floored it off the line...but i still won

Oh, and now i have more goodies installed in my car, lets see if i can have a few new stories
and for those of you that might go crazy and scream at me, i rarely go above 60, it is always when there i no one around, only in a straight line, i dont weave in and out of traffic....and do not tell me you neevr gave it a lil gas when the civic next to you tried to pass you....i have been to driving/racing schools also, so leave me alone
