No worries, i've gotten the what is that, is that an IMPORt...mind u i was in a parking garage, you would figure they had seen one by now....i could have told them it was a mercedes and they would have said wow!!!! cool...

One guy asked me why I took the plasctic paneling off the car.I said it didnt have plastic paneling.He said to me"just to in lighten you all elements come with paneling,who are you trying to kidd.LOL

i had a lady from work tell me she saw a lava the other day at church but it had the black front end and i was like wow thank god it was an element. i was also on the ferry the other day and i had like 15 people surrounded my wip. they were all like :shock: that is one hot van. i was like its a xb and smacked the ____ outa every single one of them. :lol:

Already got two "NICE ELEMENT" comments. I mean, they're two TOTALLY different cars!!!! One is much bigger than the other. And one has all real car exterior material and one is 50% plastic on the outside!

OK, i was waiting to see some of the reactions here in the East, now i can add to them. I have had the RS1 for almost 2 weeks now, and it never fails, every day i get stares and looks. Here are some of the funny response i have recieved....

" What the F* is that .... " i guy said out his window as i past him the other way, said it pretty loud too.

" Its an Element, no dude, its a Hyundai, no way its an Element .... " this was an argument between 2 teen age guys at my duaghters high school. My wife was going to correct them, but she said she couldnt stop laughing.

" Nice car, what kinda hybrid is it?.... " some one who was waiting for me to leave a BJ's parking lot

As i was pulling into a parking lot, a guy who was crossing in front of me just stopped, right in the middle of my lane, and stood there. He wouldnt move, so i had to go around him, the whole time he was just staring at my xB ..... just staring.

If i had a nickle for every turned head and glare i got from driving this xB, i would be a very rich man.

I've heard the "Element" question too many times to keep track of. I just politely explain the difference.

On another note...

I was standing near my ride in the parking lot of a grocery store the other night (in the middle of a phone call) when I hear this middle-aged woman say to her husband, "Oh gosh.. I hate those cars.. I just hate those cars!!!!"

I just laughed a little. You can't take those kinds of things to heart. It seems there's no middle ground when it comes to the whole Scion phenomenon. Some people get it, some people don't. S'all good.

I got the hybrid question 3 times today, it's all good. The skyon thing is fine with me, just pronounce it right. It's the element comparisons that bother me.

Wierd scion stories:

The other day i was rolling in the ghetto-y parts of Providence listening to some music when my passenger turned to me and said "yo, she's talking to you" and pointed at a black chick riding in the passenger seat of the car next to us. The light turned and as the car was driving away she turned and yelled "I'm not gonna kill you i just want to know what kind of car it is!"

Last weekend a couple in a mini cooper followed me to find out what i was driving, it was strange. They said "it's nice, but not as cool as this (motion towards mini cooper)." Then I showed them the back seat.

my favorite was when i first got my xB (july) and i was sitting in traffic and an old man pulled up next to me and just gave me the most disgusted look and shook his head like i did something wrong...and also on the way to work an older asian lady drove by me with her window half way down and her head stickin out and she yelled at me with the deapest FOB accent,"I SEE YOU CAR EV-WE-DAY(everyday)!!!" she sounded pretty mad about it too, like she was sick of seeing it. i laughed. the other good ones were the people that would just point and laugh, and id laugh with them. ahahah :D g o o d times..

oh i dont take it to heart.. half the time i just laugh and teach them about the lil bus. they love the fact that it gets better gas mileage than a bicycle! also that it has more room than most penile compensated SUV's like Excursions or Suburbans

I get all of those comments on my scion as well but the one i hated most is when a kid called it a match box :evil: All I had to say to him was dont be haten im sure he was just jelous because he was driven a beat up P.O.S. cadilac cimeron (if you can remember what they look like).

thats one comment i havent got id like someone to call mine a match box that be pretty cool ive got alot of weird comments most of them i make a joke with them and to others i explain a little not alot since i have a speech problem i tell them what i can and from what i can they all seem pretty intrested. hope this doesnt sound racist but black people are the ones that really get a kick outa the car... has anyone else notice it?
