Over the months I have had two rattles and I have isolated to:

1. hatch latch
2. center above dome light

Well I have gone almost two weeks with no rattles (knock on wood) by doing:

1. hatch latch-wrap electrical tape around metal bar (6-7 wraps)
2. center dome light- jam a piece of wood between metal crevice above dome light

Hopefully they will not come back and I will not get any new rattles. Good luck to everyone who has rattles getting them fixed and to those going through an attorney.

why didnt you just take it to the dealer to get it fixed. thats what im doing tomorrow !

 

Problem withconstantly opening and closing panels and headliners in cars is, you most like end up generating more panels as the clips and parts loosen up from all the pulling and pushing, no matter who does it.

I had one single rattle from the back too I just left it alone and it went away by itself. I bet it would have ended up worse back there if I or the dealer messed around looking and probing around for it.

I did not put in my note but I did take to dealer and they did the TSB for the struts which did not fix the rattles. Also if you read the other posts regarding rattles you will see that NOBODY has had their rattles completely fixed by the dealer and this is with the "master Scion tech" having the car for days.

Good luck with your rattles and definitely post back after you get the car back from the dealer.
