anyone out there with this combo... ive heard that the AEM intake is known to rub on the fog lights... to the best of my knowlege the typhoon air filter is larger than the aem... so logically there will also be a rubbing problem? yes/no

Does anyone know if the AEM filter (CAI) rubs against the fogs.? I am planning to put the fogs on but I have the AEM CAI installed already.

you need to tighten the screw holding the intake fully so that it doesnt move. if it does begin to move itll rubb on the lights. I kno some1 whos intake fell off b/c they didnt tighten it all the way

My AEM CAI rubs against my fog lights. I remedied the situation with a piece of foam rubber wedged between the fog light and the filter element.
I would suggest going another route. Injen, K&N come to mind. But I'm not sure how they fit at all really.

Hmmm...so would you say it is probably a bad idea to put the fogs on at this point? Or is it just that it rubs and there really isn't anything harmful about it.

If you have an xB and an AEM intake and foglights make sure you have the spacer for the intake or else it will rub.

Just do what I did, buy the Injen and don't worry about it...

I have the Injen - that's the problem. It is hitting the foglight just like the above stories.

The spacer is an aluminum piece about 5/8" that goes between the bracket and the body.

i have the injen intake and have no rubbing issues. installed it today as a matter of fact. 45 min. and that was running in and out to get tools (frigging toolbox).

I adjusted the air filter by pushing it further down on the tube, no problem now.
