Default 1 of my Guage Needles Broke. Need Help

My main gauge needle broke. Then one that tells me how fast I'm going. Anyone know where i could find a Gauge Cluster for a 2005 Scion Tc? The dealer is asking for about 300 dollars. I know that there has to be a totalled Tc somewhere that does not need that Gauge Cluster with the needles in it. Anyone HELP! [/b]

05 tC, depending on what caused it to break, it may be covered under your bumper to bumper warranty, but I would too like to ask... how did it break? I am curious about this one.

www.car-parts.com

There are a couple on there for like $70ish.

I was looking because one of mine had an accident too, but I fixed it up

The reason the needle broke was becauses I had taken the Speedometer Cluster out to change those LED'S into blue. I had left that Cluster in my back seat till i was done and next thing u know my lil nephew comes to my room showing me a Gauge Cluster without the Main Middle Gauge Needle. I was SOOOOOOOOOO ____ed off...but Oh well...He does not know better...I do I think i will look for a Junk Yard here in San Diego...see if i find anything. Thanks for the HELP guys ;)

Keep in mind that legally you have to have them either pre-programmed with your mileage from the factory or they come with a sticker saying the mileage is incorrect. I went through this when I was attempting to start a core swap process for doing the gauges. My dealer offered them to me for around $250, but they have to order them from toyota with the mileage programmed in. Now, if it is just the plastic needle, then try to find a salvaged unit to part out. I will keep an eye out for something as well

At one point in time I was driving my TC without a Gauge Cluster for about 4 days. There was nothing in my Speedometer space...and when i put my gauge cluster back it had the right amount of miles on it...lol. Know what i mean? I dont think it has to be programed? Does it? Well....Thankx for the help...i really need it.

Well... to be fair for resale.. it should be I tried doing that and verified that it does not update, and then dug deeper and found out through Toyota about it having to be pre-programmed. They dont store any info on mileage in the ECU according to them.

Question though.... is it really broken.. or did he just pull the needle out? If so, you can just pop it back in. You have to pull them all out to get to the LEDs. Just thought I would pose that question just in case

I sure would. Crazy glue is some great stuff. I bet it would work just fine.

Depends on where it's broken.

Remember, it needs to be optically capable of letting light from below come in through the little clear portion and go up the needle. If the actual acrylic is snapped AFTER the light comes in, it may have some brightness issues

i think he means that the axle is broken. he would need a whole new motor or whatever that thing is, if that is the case.
