How do you turn the compass on?

Is it for a tC, Im assuming so cuz u posted here, but the tC's auto mirror has no compass.

 

there's a compass on the auto dimming mirror? lol i really doubt there is since there's no lcd to show you anything =P

negative. No compass on the Auto dimm mirror. I got duped by that too, and I was not happy!

 

who said there was a compass on the mirror? There isn't one. Just so you know.

 

The original poster was wondering if there was one on it. When I bought my car, the picture of it online showed that there was a compas on it. That's why I said I had been duped. They have since changed the picture on the website.

 

you'd have to get a Wal-compass

 

Yeah I originally saw it on the website and decided then that I wanted it. Too late now I guess, it's already on the car. Kinda pricey for what it does though eh? The compass would have made it a little sweeter.

its still pretty cool. has map lights, a built in garage door opener, and "mood" lighting. wuld just be cooler with the comp.

I'm with you. But the mirror is still nice regardless of it having a compass or not.

 

i wish i had a 3 door garage to use mine to the fullest... lol

i have 20% tinted windows all around, but the mirror still dims which helps. and i do like the amber mood lighting... makes the interior look sexy at night

 

cant the whole unit be swapped for a toyota oem one that has a compass? just wondering..

 

Most definitel;y, yes. It wouldn't even have to be a toyota brand (most of these are genex brand anyhow). The cool thing about the tc's compas is the mood lighting....when it gets dark, it casts a subtle hue of light. I don't think the other toyota ones have that option.

 

The auto-dimming mirrors aren't OEM. They are all aftermarket. My parents have one in their Highlander and my friend has the same mirror in his FX.

 

^^ yep, see above where I mention Genex. Or maybe its Gentex, I forget.

 

more newb stock posts? that mirror is a waste of money if u get your windows tinted anyway. the tint dims headlights dependin on the %. sorry about no compass in the tc adm.

 

i disagree

my windows are tinted 20%, and the mirror still dims. so it isnt a waste of money, and it is awesome if you have a garage.... sucks for me cause i dont at the current time

 

i dont get the garage part. what does it do? i went with a wide angle mirror so i can c ury thang out the back. it might b that i have slightly darker tint than 20.
