comments and suggestions please! going to go buy a tc TODAY
I crashed my current car yesterday and honestly I am glad, because now I have a real excuse to ditch my car and get a TC.
I called up my bank yesterday and am getting a loan through them, and it should have closed last night, but Im just waiting on final word this morning before I can go pick up a cashiers check.
I am location in Gilbert, Arizona so there are 6 scion dealerships in my area, and I want to know if anyone has any suggestions or comments for me. My plan is to have the money in my hand so to speak and call up the dealerships one by one and ask them what their stock is looking like.
Basically I am not picky about the TC that I get. I don't care if it's a 2005 or 2006, don't care about the color (except for the blue pearl, yuk). All I really want is the cheapest new car I can find.
What should be a good price I should ask for for a TC automatic? I don't want them to jack me around (and I know all about pure price... but that doesn't count for much when you can go down there in 20 minutes and drop a certified check for $17,000)
so around what price range should I be asking for. and that includes tax, dock, title, and all that other crap they try and tack on at the very end.

theres no price asking
pure pricing
what you see is what you get
but maybe you can haggle with processing fee free floormats free car wash oil change
but pretty much what scion price is written is what you will pay.

yeah the only thing you can really do is just lay down your check and say, this is how much i got... but i dont think if youre only spending 17, that its going to be enough for an auto tC with TT&L. Good luck tho.
well, my loan is only for $20,000.. but I might be able to get it in the form of $19.000 check.. and another $1000 in cash. that way.. when I go there I can be like.. look.. here is $19.000 right now. Take it or leave it.

.....and they will leave it I'm sure. First of all pure price would prohibit them from doing it any way. Lets pretend for a second that the dealership doesn't care about losing inventory or possibly their franchise for deviating from the pure price system. Why would they discount the car anyway? In most markets (possibly all markets) the tC is in short supply. If they don't sell it to you then they will sell it to someone else before the day is over. The only thing your going to get off the car is possibly the doc fee....THATS IT! In Texas the doc fee isn't an issue, but from what I understand is that since dealers are now adding the doc fee on their price menu they can't lower it or waive it. Good luck, but I think you are waisting your time.
