i got my new sunroof installed!!! i was looking for an xb with sunroof but they didnt have a factory installed one, so i was referred to this company called AIRSTREAM in huntington beach, i guess theyve been around for a while but dont really advertise. Vince the manager over there gave me a tour of the shop and was really helpfull. i ended up getting a sunroof and he gave me a killer deal on the 12.1" screen, when i saw i had to get it. heres some pics.

yes it is a full feature power sunroof, full power with tilt/vent, automatically closes when you take out the key, sunshade, the works. the quality on the video is AMAZING. and i got a really good deal. if you call and speak to vince the manager just say joe from the scion forums sent you, hell give you a real good deal, i paid $1495 for the video and $949 for the sunroof, it was well worth it.

Real nice, nothing like MODS that are done as nicely as that. It pays to get stuff done at places where the guys really know what they're doing. Must be cool if you have kids too...put them in the back and let them watch spongehead. $2400 total and you pretty much bought yourself a babysitter as well. Good deal....

...hey man, where'd you get your leather from? Through a dealer and if so who'd they use?

I agree, the work looks nice. I like the tuck-n-hide rather then the pop up. Reminds me, i was just at my dealer yesterday showing off my ride, and in the show room was a blue xB with 2 sunroofs added. They were the pop up kind though. Im still on the fence about it.

i wonder how it would look with 2 of them installed? being that the rear one would not be directly above the rear seats , still I think it would look hot just dont know how stable the structure would be

hmm.. very hip indeed.

but a more constructive thread of thought: anyone considered why Toyo decided not to offer sunroofs? I'm sure it's been discussed before but... what about the loss of structure rigidity? were extra bracings added for roll over protection? xB's have huge roofs w/ relatively little side support as far as i'm concered... kinda scary like.. u just cut a big hole in the middle of a coke can. let's see how easily it crumbles...

i was also very concerned about the structure of the car myself before i had the install, but after THOUROUGH research i found out that the beams up top only hold onto the roof so it doesnt rattle when the wind hits it. when i asked about the install they said the sunroof itself has beams and security so the sunroof is actually safe, but what really sold me on it was when i called a couple of scion dealers and all of them told me they all use airstream. when i was over there they were putting TWO SUNROOFS in a landrover and were working on a computer in a lAMBROGINI!!!!! i was in heaven, lol. but i was sure to do research on it because i was very scared since i never saw any others with this setup.

Looks great! I love that addition to your box. Congratulations.
Your leather interior is great, too  ! Where did you get that work done and how much did it cost?
For both installs: How long did it take (sun roof/leather interior?)
Thanks alot and even though the interior is not poor by any means with your additions it has raised the level of comfort and style quite a bit! Thanks!

the leather i got with the car, i guess its not factory but it sure does look like it if not better, i called the dealership and they said it was done my airstream, the same people that did the sunroof and video for me. i guess this company does a lot of work for them.

Was that for the 2 screens too?

no road noise or wind noise whatsoever. i havent had a slight difference in the ride or sounds inside the car, they said if there was anything they would take care of it. $1495 was a great deal considering the fact it had video game hookups, surround sound option, 2 wireless headphones, all the custom work you saw in the pic and a 3year warranty. i am happy, considering the fact i saw a smaller screen with crappy picture and less features at best buy. nonetheless i have no regrets.

theres a top slider, which lifts above the roof and slides back, its a little lower in price i think.
