Default wheres a better place for the rear speakers in the xb?

The placement of the rear speakers are pretty bad in the xb especially if u have any kind of subset up. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where i could mount a set of comps. I was thinking maybe the door, but would that be difficult? I would have to cut a hole in the door which slightly scares me, but yea any suggestions guys?

If you had a good set of comps in the front, you really do not need the rear speakers. Who cares about the rear passengers. I was also thinking about the rear speaker situation and thought you could make a hard cover for the rear and mount the like cars do on the rear shelf and if they were comps then put the tweets in the rear pillar and that would be clean. I have seen someone that made a hard shelf and mounted the speakers and it looks great. Hope this helps.

The garbage?

LOL....j/k.

I don't have an xB so not really sure about rear mounting, but I'm a huge advocate of front stage only operation

I've tried to add speakers to the rear doors myself. I agree with you. The rear needs more speakers, especially if you have the rear cargo cover. That totally blocks the rear speakers.

The only thing that will fit the rear doors in an xB are 4" round speakers. That's max. 3 1/2" would be better. Anything bigger and you will have to cut some metal in the doors. There is a little space where a magnet would fit, and that's just about it. It's really hard to find 4 inch comp speaker sets anywhere that I have found. I even went so far as to run the wires as I continue to search for 3 1/2" or 4" comp sets that are worth a damn.

If you know of any PM me and put the post here. I'll tell you how to run the wires up from the factory rears to the rear doors.

rear doors are an excellent place.......and heck if your creative you place the tweeter over head..depending on what type of sound your looking for..just build pods for them...
