when you have the ipod hooked up, for the people that have the ipod hu, can you still select songs through the ipod, or only through the hu. also, have you ever found a need for using the ipod to select your songs, or is the hu good enough? thanks in advance.

 

I dont think you could control the it through the IPOD anymore.

the iPod controls are inactive when it is hooked up - you control it thru the head unit. It takes a little getting use to, and the songs display in different order on the HU then they do on the iPod but it works great.

 

I know if you unhook your ipod too quickly, it will mess it up and you will have to restore your ipod but other than that control through radio dials

 

I have the HU. Its pretty good, the only thing i dont like is that it takes a long time to find songs in a large playlist.
By the way, does anyone know how to put th songs in ABC order using the HU?

controlled using the hu...i've gotten use to it so its fine with me...choosing through the whole ipod is annoying so i have plenty of playlist...

I have the ipod hu. I like but the only thing i do not like is it always goes back to the top most menu. meaning it goes to the playlist, artist,album etc. I wish it would just go back to the previous menu like on the ipod. But to answer your q you cannot control it from the ipod. only the hu.
