Hey, sorry in advance if this is a duplicate thread - I tried searching first.

I was at Sonic getting a burger for myself and my other office workers and the carhop walked over to my tC and exclaimed: "I love your car. I want one because they're soooo cute."

Now, I don't obsess over my masculinity or anything, but I felt odd when my car was called "cute". I never have considered it cute at all, but I use other words like "sleek", "stylish" and yes, on occasion "zippy".

So now I ask you - what have other people said about your tC? Also, if you had only ONE word to describe your tC, what would it be? I pick "sleek" for mine.

A lot of people have called my car a ZION when it's Scion

 

Well they call my tC "The Octogon" in my mind.. but mostly they say "Hey you got one of those Skions."

 

yea SKION .... kinda annoying when ppl say that ..... usually people used to ask what it is cause they had no clue

 

I need to have flash cards ready and have them read one that reads "Science" and then have the other read "Scion".. so they realize what an **** they make themselves :p

 

Hah, my mom calls them "SKEE-ONS" all the time. At least she calls my model "TEE-CEE" rather than trying to pronounce the two letters like "TICK".

 

Some old fart thought my tC was a Prius. Since he was so old, I was nice and told him it was a Scion tC. He replied, "Huh? A Skyon? What the hell is that?" (Use your own 'Old Man' voice there.) Then he turned away and proceeded to leave me a present of flatulence! Best part was that it wasn't even my birthday!!

 

Them- "what kinda car do you drive?"
me- "a scion tc"
them- "is that the box one?"
me- "no, thats the xb. Mine is a 2 door coupe"
them- "wait a minute, they make something other than the box one?"
me- "errrr...."

that was my conversation with a new coworker of mine today. *sigh...

if i had to choose one word to describe my car? Shiny :D

Ahh the dreaded "you didn't get the box, did you?" comments!

Those drive me nuts on two levels:

1) xB's rock (they're comfortable and full of gadgets)
2) xB is not the only Scion product

My stepdad was heavily anti-xB and he wanted a Civic Hybrid... After I forced him to take a test-drive of an xB, he scratched his head and said "This thing is neat, I like it."

 

I had a guy driving a Ferrari Modena pulled up beside my tC recently, said he love my "little toyota coupe" and asked if it was a hybrid.... The lights turn green I didn't have enough time to reply to him if he want to trade his Ferrari for my "hybrid", sorry for a moment there I forgot how much I love my tC, its just the yellow Ferrari was....

 

my girlfriend calls it an "egg," but she says it's "cute" also. I don't want my car to be "cute" looking, i want it to be "MEAN!!!!!!" looking. She also wanted me to put a pink pig behind my car..... now, it's even more feminine looking. she says my car needs a trademark just like her honda accord has a yellow pickachu (pokemon) behind it.

another story... i was stopping at a red light and this guy in his pick up truck pulls up right next to me and he yells "are those factory rims?" i replied and nodded my head "yes" and he gave me this shocking look like "WHOAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" that made me feel happy. sometimes after i washed my car, it's hella shiny and people would compliment me. people at schucks and autozone would compliment me too.

 

Right after I got my car this past summer, I wanted to take it to the car wash to clean it up. About 2 blocks before I get to the car wash, my radar picks up some scantly clad girls in their bikini's advertising a cheerleader car wash for the college I go to. So I pulled in there.

Instantly, all of the girls run up to my car and were asking me questions about it. Of course, they asked what it was and I told them it was a Scion. I got the typical, "what's that?" and I replied, "the same people that make the box." They all said they liked my tC more than the box.

Some of the girls got to work washing my car but a couple stayed and talked to me about my tC. So I stood there HAPPILY answering their questions as they rubbed my car and sprayed each other with the hoses. Talk about heaven. I gave them a nice donation and drove off into the sunset with a smile on my face.

Yea, a couple of them said it was "cute" but I didn't care after all of the eye-candy they gave me.

 

A couple weeks ago I drove up to Montreal for a concert. As soon as I found a parking spot on Rue Ste Catherine, guys descended on my car like flies on ****. Seriously, people came from all along the sidewalk, crossed the street, and gathered around, saying, "Whoa, what is that, I've never seen one of those, that's cool, what's a Scion, how much did that cost, etc..." I ended up having to stand around for ten minutes or so answering questions, showing people the car and whatnot. It was weird -- before this I drove a Honda Civic, so I'm not used to people thinking my car is cool.

7th, nothing personal but.. why did you actually put the pig in your car? WHY??!?!

The other day my g/f stopped by my office and was like, "I was walking down the street and this one car caught my eye. I thought, wow that is one nice car. Then I realized it was your car." lol

Most people at my job like the car.. my boss has an xB and his advice on Scions was part of why I got it over the Mazda 3.

It has been raining in Jersey for A WEEK STRAIGHT so.. no chance to show off.

 

my buddy always calls it the "spaceship". But I always get, "oh you bought the box one"

 

ppl call mine "the leanback" jus cuz of the back seats

 

People allways think of the xB when they hear Scion, like thats the only scion there is.

My GF says its a civic, lol

 

Some old lady asked if my tC was another make of Mini Cooper. My emblem in the front was blacket out so she couldnt read the scion emblem.

 

"Nice car" is what I usually get. But I've also gotten the Prius comment as mentioned above -- I don't see the resemblance, but I guess some people just don't have an eye for cars. Oh, and someone thought it was an audi.
