Default Colormatch or leave CF? (56k sorry in advance)

So i have the 4caroption carbon grille that I liked the design of, but it looked a bit out of place. I had the idea of finding another honeycomb grill from the lower bumper intake and using that to replace the chicken wire the carbon one comes with... I was also going to colormatch TCM the carbon part, so everything looked as OEM as possible. I think I would be the first one to do this.

So I got the honeycomb in there and I think it looks great... in fact, it makes the carbon look like it belongs there now to me, as the honeyconb insert ties it in visually w/the lower grilles.

Should I leave the main part of the grille CF or make it TCM. Help me decide.

Sorry the pix are enormous

Color match it. I like how you did the honeycomb grill.

There's info on how I did the grille here-

The honeycomb is a recent addition. Alex Millen hooked it up for me... he's grizzly_choppers here on SL. Great guy.

What's the purpose of getting CF if it's going to be painted? And please don't say that it saves weight, a grill will save you sh*t.

imo, leave it like that, and get a CF hood too

Actually i got the grille for it's form. I planned on painting it all along It's one of those pieces you can't get in fiberglass or ABS...

Paint it, but leave a little cf exposed somewhere inconspicuous so it's subtle.

The honeycomb looks pheonomenal.

I was origionally considering that too, masking off the inside part of the opening (just in front of the bB badge back)... Yeh that would still visually work with the honeycomb now. Hmm.

One option would be to get a cf hood, spoiler, and trunk door ($money!) and paint to match except a cf stipe going down the middle with matching thin red stripes triming the cf one. Again, that would be costly though, lol.

redhalo- Believe it or not i considered that idea too... yeah a little too spendy (like $1k+ just for some cool carbon stripes)... If it was a show car i might do it.

This particular grille looks aight untill the light hits it an unflattering way and you see the uneveness in the weave...then it looks like there's a bunch of hay impregnated in it, haha.

paint! Carbon fiber is way overdone on so many cars. Im not a fan of it personally and have none on mine anymore. it gets old.

What I do if I were you, is to cut out the "bB" emblem holder and get rid of that so theres no emblem. Then TCM the grille so its just the 4caroption grille and the honeycomb. that would look really hot i think.

i absolutely love the honeycomb you have going there. Alex is a really cool guy.

Awesoem look Boxer!

I would leave it. If you wanted to colormatch, maybe find another grill that isn't CF and sell that one or hang on to it for later plans. Colormatching would look GREAT, but at the expense of ruining a CF grill? I wouldn't. Just my $.02

if there was another grille that had roughly the same dimensions and style that wasn't CF I'd buy it maybe, but I haven't seen one... and if there was it would prolly be some JDM import that would be way more expensive anyway

Sexyscionlover- That is a good idea, I'll consider it.
